Bush Puzzled By Re-entry Plan
WASHINGTON — President Bush expressed dismay yesterday over plans to require American, Canadian and Mexican citizens to show passports to enter the United States — a requirement of an intelligence-reform bill he signed late last year — saying it could "disrupt the honest flow of traffic."

"When I first read that in the newspaper, about the need to have passports, for particularly the day crossings that take place — about a million, for example in the state of Texas — I said, 'What's going on here?"' Bush told the American Society of Newspaper Editors. "I thought there was a better way to ... expedite the legal flow of traffic and people."

Bush said he has instructed Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and the Department of Homeland Security to review the plan to see if there is any way to lessen the impact, such as using electronic fingerprint imaging "to serve as a so-called passport for daily traffic."

In calling for flexibility, Bush is looking to change part of the sweeping intelligence-overhaul bill that Congress passed and he signed last December. The change is aimed at preventing terrorists from entering the country by exploiting what U.S. officials believe is today's overly permissive policy.

1. Oh yes, electronic fingerprinting
maybe a retinal scan is neccessary. A sample of your DNA perhaps. Of course nothing is neccessary for illegal border jumpers. As long as they will work for under minimum wage at Walmart everything is a-okay

2. NOTE to Bush
Mr. President:

It's recently come to our attention that you were 'surprised' at a law (which you previously signed) that requires American, Canadian and Mexican citizens to show passports upon entering the United States.

Now, we know this may sound elementary to you, but as President of the United States, it's important that you know what's contained in the bills that Congress sends to you for your signature. It's just basic common sense. You don't just abitrarily sign bills w/o knowing what's in them.

Now, you see what happens when you tell your staff you're not a big reader, so don't overload you with too much to read. You see what happens as a result of your intellectual laziness.

With love,
The American people

P.S.--If you don't understand this letter, Laura can help you read it.

14. You're welcome, and thank you!
I don't think I've ever been more embarrassed at the person sitting in the Oval Office!

My letter may have been tongue-in-cheeck, but it's the truth. One of the first things the White House staff learned about the new 'President' in 2001, was that he's not a big reader, and he likes to go to bed by 9PM. Sounds like a little child!

And we are living the results of that kind of laziness. He's dumbing down the American people right along with him.
