It's a perma-smirk. One side up one side down. I've seen the same look in older books. It's just the way his mouth is. He's been smirking so long he can't stop.

21. An insane idea
Could Bush have a body double that fills in for him at certain events? Sort like that movie, "Dave". I don't believe that but you never know about these people.

22. I'm sure he'd jump at the chance to do as little work as possible!
Edited on Thu Apr-14-05 05:23 PM by Lisa
It's funny how Saddam Hussein would force guys to double for him, but in Bush's case they are lining up to volunteer (even subjecting themselves to elaborate makeup jobs, like this guy who does the impression of him on Leno's show).

http://www.ppi.cc/ppi_players/kevin_haney2.htm

Timothy Bottoms (who portrayed Bush on that Comedy Central series and in that 9/11 movie) said that he did consider offering to be a double for Bush, he was that desperate for work.

But most of the people who impersonate Bush don't have much prior acting background, and just happen to look a bit like him.

http://www.brentmendenhall.com/

I don't think this is an insane idea at all -- I've heard that the Secret Service has been known to use decoys, in exposed situations like convoys (if not in actual appearances like the one in "Dave" where he has to walk through a crowd) -- one DUer said earlier that he happened to look in the window of a limo that purportedly was taking Bush's dad around the LA earthquake aftermath, and the guy didn't even look much like GHWB, much too young!

23. Of course, all in the name of "security" !
A Bush double could be rationalized away by saying it was for "security purposes" because as we all know, "9/11 changed everything". :sarcasm:

The guy Michaels does look and act like him but the only thing is his voice. Other wise he does a pretty good job. In the promo video he has towards the end there was a guy with him eating ice cream who was a John Kerry impersonator. Hehe. ;) I wonder who that was.

38. and more Bushes, coming out of the woodwork
http://www.georgebushimpersonator.com/ (this is another guy, in Florida)

There are clips of Steve Bridges on the NBC website and also here:
http://www.milkandcookies.com/keywords/stevebridges/
http://www.leadingauthorities.com/16885/Steve_Bridges.htm
http://www.stevebridges.com/performance.html

The voice isn't bad, but the way he moves is sometimes kind of iffy. Also, his basic facial shape isn't entirely like Bush's, so there's a limit to what the makeup artist could do (I'll cut him some slack on that since it would take some pretty radical surgery to move his eyes closer together!). I've noticed that Bridges often bends his head down slightly as he keeps his eyes on the camera -- I think this is on purpose because the foreshortening does make the similarity a little closer.

Like his mother, he'll need it to cover up that grizzled neck. Ewwwwww.
