Looks like a good Aaron Brown tonight

snip-

The drip, drip, drip has started on Tom DeLay, the most
powerful man in the House. It is far too early to tell
if he survives the string of allegations against him.
His side says this is all a conspiracy by the liberal
press. We submit it is something else again. The Wall
Street Journal editorial page, perhaps the most
conservative page in the country, has raised questions,
so has former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. There are
real questions here. Whether they amount to crimes or
abuses that should cost him his job is for others.
We’ll give you a good DeLay 101 tonight and suspect it
is just a start.

-snip-

Now we get to a couple of less than sure things we are
fighting to get in. A very nice piece on the impact of
the new bankruptcy bill and how much the banking/credit
card industry spent to get it. Our medical unit is
working the story of the killer flu virus let loose (and
yes, this is for real). I suspect both will make it.

Although we'll have to suffer through some Michal Jackson b.s.
also.

2. I think i understand what the poster meant
The junta has decided to boot DeLay....why I don't know. They can get away with anything and no one cares. Maybe he pissed off Smirky or Rove by being a bigger kingmaker than they are.

Aaron Brown sucks big ones, I agree, but its interesting to watch when the junta decides to throw luggage off the train.

4. Even Monica Crowley, former Nixon assistant and co-host with
Ron Reagan, was piling on today. She actually took a slightly higher tone than she usually does (ethics lapses on BOTH sides, she pointed out repeatedly) but it is clear that the knives are out.

Wonder who drafted the memo? They are all singing in three part harmony, parroting the same talking points!

7. he defines the word "pompous" - that pathetic delivery of his...
... every syllable seems to imply that what he's saying is Very Important.

and his pained sighs! I keep an hour of his sighs on a tape, that way I can listen to them when commuting.

3. Every once in a while his show is ok. Maybe he'll have good guests.
I don't like him much either, but I watch if he has a good topic.

5. Aaron Brown's not that bad
Granted, the topics for his show are largely dictated by CNN. But the few times I can remember seeing him give his opinion, they were pretty reasonable. I remember that he took a shot at Delay about a month ago, before this thing really started to boil over.

He sort of won me over, by being really angered by Bush's attempt to stop the formation of the 9/11 commission - he made a point of talking about this for a few episodes in a row before Bush finally caved.

Don't really watch him anymore, because the topics for his show are usually the same trash you see on every other cable news network, however, I think Aaron Brown is a pretty decent guy.

8. I love Aaron Brown. He's an old time journalist. Those puppies are
rare. And no he doesn't report on Bush's obvious insanity. Of course I wish CNN was as up to date as we are here. But he still usually has a serious show. At least when I tune in.
