CBS News: American hostage a GREAT HUMANITARIAN!
CBS Evening News tonight is reporting that the latest American hostage was in Iraq to bring safe drinking water to the Iraqi people.... a heroic humanitarian motive. CBS also speculated that the terrorists probably chose him because he was doing too well and showing that Americans really care for the Iraqi People.

I call BullShit!!!
This man was not a hero or a humanitarian!
He was a consultant to an American Corporation that was involved in privitizing the Iraqi Drinking Water industry.

If I am not mistaken, the Iraqi Water Works was ONE of the Iraqi Public Owned Systems that Bremmer privatized (stole from the Iraqi People) and sold off to the highest corporate bidder! The people working for the Privatized Water System are not in Iraq to help the people, they are there to make a huge profit off of a captive market supplied by a monopoly.

I don't have documentation yet, but I'm pretty sure about this. IIRC, the corporation that bought the Water contract was associated with Coca Cola. It is a little difficult to find documentation on the theft, sale, and privatization of Iraqi assets.

If I am wrong, someone please supply the correct information!

1. You may or may not be wrong about this particular guy,
but the fact is that there are not a lot of CEOs in Iraq performing humanitarian acts at the moment. It's still capitalist vulture city over there, and I'd not be surprised if this guy was pulling a Bechtel on the Iraqis.
