George Bush's iPod: Here's a weird little story I found
Bush's iPod reveals music tastes

"President Bush, left, talking with Mike Hammanwright during a break in a mountain bike ride in Quantico, Virginia
Ain't no Fortunate Son, but Bush doesn't listen only to supporters
George W Bush is a fan of country music and classic rock, but he also likes "a little bit of hard core and honky tonk", his iPod playlist suggests.

His 250 songs include country greats George Jones and Alan Jackson, but also My Sharona by the Knack.

Mr Bush has an aide download music for him and listens to it while mountain biking, the New York Times reported.

Rolling Stone journalist Joe Levy called the playlist "feel-good music. The Sex Pistols it's not."

A little bit of hard core and honky tonk! For a straight-talkin' man, his music interests seem pretty nuanced to me!

BTW, if "My Sharona" is his definition of "hard core"....

2. That was interesting
I'm sure it is another calculated attempt to show the Murkan public just how much G Dub is just like the rest of us. There's something on his playlist for everyone, after all! :puke:

4. Of course
I can go and ask my personal assistant to buy and download songs for me too! :eyes: So now I can sit down and have a hot dog and we can both share songs on our ipods! Yep. :eyes:

3. What is "Hard Core" and "Honky Tonk"?
No, seriously. This metropolitan kid wants to know. Is Honky Tonk a separate category from Bluegrass and General Country?

 I don't notice much difference in the styles and I was brought up on country music. I've never heard of "hard core" country.

7. Uhm
Honky tonk to me always seemed like more of a redneck type of country- you know, the kind of songs they play in bars and saloons, the kind that are all about drinkin' and cryin' over your woman and bein' a redneck. But then again, I'm no country aficionado.

I always thought of "hardcore" as a subgenre of punk, really underground type music. Obviously, that's not what's on Gee Dub's playlist, so I have no clue what they mean by hardcore, in this case.
