North praises Christian teachings in Billings talk

Of The Gazette Staff

North was the keynote speaker at the fourth annual dinner and auction fund-raiser for Billings Christian Schools. North is a combat-decorated Marine, author, host of a Fox News Channel program, and former counter-terrorism coordinator during the Ron Reagan administration and figure in the Iran-Contra scandal.

"I'm a person who believes mightily in the power of prayer," North said. "I learned in the '80s that the Lord does answer prayers."

The core of North's comments was about the importance of Christian education in America. Youngsters who receive Christian educations are not only able to pass the tests in secular life - those related to math, science and reading - but are trained to handle the big life tests that come down to questions of moral right and wrongs. Those kids, North said, are taught by people who "know where they are going and why they are going there" and will put those lessons to use in their own lives.

"It is profoundly important to this community, to this state and this country, that we have community support for schools like this," North said.

2. I'm confused...

So, is North saying that he SHOULD have received a Christian education when he was younger, so he wouldn't have turned into a perjuring, corrupting, drug-peddling, death-squad-enabling P.O.S. when he grew up?

5. Christian teachings?
Does he mean, like telling the truth? Seems a perjurer like North could stand a little remedial education in just what Christ taught. For example, when Jesus said "Love your enemies," I'm pretty sure he meant "Don't kill them."

6. North is the traitor who made sure Iran had USA Hawk
anti-aircraft missiles, and a Bible. So if our pilots are ordered to attack Iran, and they get shot down with our missiles, North can pin yet another phony medal to his felonious chest.

Chapter 2
United States v. Oliver L. North

Oliver L. North, a Marine lieutenant colonel assigned to the National Security Council staff beginning in 1981 until he was fired on November 25, 1986, was the White House official most directly involved in secretly aiding the contras, selling arms to Iran, and diverting Iran arms sales proceeds to the contras.

7. so its not how you die?
Ollie is part of the "culturre of life"

Compare today's terrorist - people who strap on bomb jackets or drive cars on suicide missions - with today's youth who are being educated in American Christian schools, North said. Those terrorist have been taught to hate and to kill any infidel - "any Christian," he said

"Their whole frame of reference is about dying the right way," North said. Whereas children who receive a Christian education are taught "it's not how you die, it's how you live.
