Why Bushbots will _hate_ new Star Wars movie
So... you a George W. Bush supporter?

'Cuz if you are, you aren't going to like Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith one bit. At all.

It comes on very good authority to this blog that the final chapter of the Star Wars saga is a MASSIVE slam against Bush.

1. Hehe. The will try to block the release of the movie...
Just like they did for Michael Moore. :)

2. I like this line
"In fact, based on what I've been given about Revenge of the Sith, this movie might incite some blatant thoughts about active rebellion against Bush and his cabal."

4. That would be like trying to stop a herd of charging rhinos...
...by jumping in front of them and dramatically saying "STOP! Seriously. I'd love to see them try to block the release of Episode III.

17. Now I can't wait to see that
I'm not a huge "Star Wars" fan but this movie should be pretty good. And it's supposed to be the last one so I can't wait for that. :)

. . . and emperors as villains.

6. And if it runs true to course with the other two movies the rest of us
will hate it because it just plain sucks. Sorry, I don't see this movie starting a rebellion against Bush. I think its time to stop dreaming the impossible dream and start acting. Its time to quit screwing around and hoping that some sci-fi flick will get people out against Bush and actually work at getting people out against Bush.

12. Well finish it
It still may come in use. Just I don't see a Rebellion of Jedi Knights against Bush.

8. If yuo intend to use ANY movie to start a conversation
try the matrix... far better, and far better ploted

Now I expect SW III to be a nice.... lights and magic show.

;-)

A not to be missed Special Effects, CGI extravaganza, but I ain't expecting plot either.

15. I saw a trailer last Thursday when I went to see Sin CIty
from the looks of it, you are exactly right. All special effects and not a damn plot to be had.

9. Consider the source though
The blogger at The Knight Shift used to be on the web's biggest Star Wars site. He's been a real professional journalist so he's got to have some sources on this that the rest of us don't. And Knight has always come across as one of the most levelheaded writers around. If he reports there's something to watch in this one I'm inclined to believe him.

14. Well that is to be expected
Since Lucas suposedly had written 9 movies all at once. Then add in the fact that for the bast 15 years or so there have been comics and novels authorized by Lucas that have filled in the backstory of the events that happened before and after the original three movies. Anyone paying attention will know exactly what is to happen in the last one.

10. Could just be a covert marketing gimmick
Just to get people talking about it.

It'll be fun if the Freepers show up to protest opening day. I guarantee at least one will get smacked in the head with a toy light saber.

16. You are right
because all of the Star Wars fans already have the outline of what is going to happen in the last movies from all the books and comics over the years. All this is going to do is fill in some of the details.

21. Hell, I don't like anything about Star Trek movies and I'm a geek!
But, if this leads to revolution and the pounding upon fundie heads with toy light sabers... I'm IN!

11. Any storyline about totalitarianism isn't going to be noticed
among the Koo-Aid drinkers. They're too ignorant to realize it's directed at THEM.

13. Maybe...but even an idiot couldn't miss this!
... something happens that Palpatine will exploit, turning it into an excuse to demand more power from the Senate and effectively making him an absolute dictator. For the most part the Senate cheers and goes along with him.

20. Wouldn't it be funny
if a freeper goes to see the movie and they're going on about how great it was and this one particular character but if you really look at the film it's supposed to be them. :spray:

19. Actually, Lucas has said for years that the Emperor
was based on Nixon. Any similarities to Bush* are personal interpretation.

Can one man so unimaginative be so despicable, without a role model?

23. The original Emperor was created in the 1970's and 1980's
Episodes I, II, and III hadn't been created yet. No reason to believe that he didn't change it to reflect current times.
