So, if we are perceived as constantly damning our own Nation
Why would people vote for Democrats? I mean that's the spin, that Democrats hate America because we don't love Wal-Mart, or have too much education, or believe that gays deserve a little more than the sort of tolerance people have for mosquitos.....

I am starting to think that, when you distill the Republican strategy, it is simply to call any challenge to our nation a slur. It seems to work on about 50% of the electorate.......

However, enough of our own internal talk, some of it extreme, of our Nation's shortcomings seems to be spun as official Democratic Party policy. When the Freeps start in on their racist, ignorant rants, they just get shrugged off as wackos and nobody seems to give a damn.

These days, if a Democrat were to call for something as ambitious as the Moon Shot, it would have been spun as an insult to the great achievements America had made with the glorious Telstar, or at least a foolish boondoggle. When Chimpy suggested a trip to Mars, it was respectfully reported and then successfully forgotten....

1. And it only goes one way.
I didn't see any of the lynch mob trying to unseat President Clinton called 'un-American' or 'immoral' or 'subversive'. It's only Democrats and liberals who are called those names. By the people who truly ARE un-American.

2. That's a very interesting observation.
You're onto something here.

3. Repukes spin everything about patriotism because it keeps them
up to date with the kool-aid. Patriotism is the tool Conservatives have long used to get poor people to vote for them. Once elected patriotism promises nothing but war. The rich end up not owing any middle class or poor person anything but parades.
