The Republicans are attempting to dismantle everything.

The judiciary system, Social Security, public education, the United Nations. What do they intended to put up in place of these programs? Nothing. What we have in the destruction of these programs and organizations is totalitarianism my friends. They want to stack the courts with Republicans so that corporations will be held even less accountable than they are right now and so they can pass their extremists measures. Restructuring Social Security so that Americans have private accounts is a big fat hand out to the financial and banking institutions who will reap a windfall from all the fees and investment advising that will bring. The elite will be the only ones able to afford a decent education, thus leaving an even larger segment of the populace uninformed and uneducated, plus privatizing public schools will be a huge boon to the private sector, which will find new and nefarious ways to squeeze more money out every citizen. And no United Nations means that there will be absolutely no formal body which will impede the United States plans for global conquest. I am quite certain I left out a lot, but these are the issues that I see as most important on the table right now. Please feel free to add to this list, the programs and organizations you have observed the Republicans as trying to destroy.

starving it to death, slowly. No Child Left Behind was specifically designed to close the doors of many schools. The hurdles schools have to jump over to meet the requirements of NCLB on time are next to impossible or flat-out impossible, given the current resource levels of school districts.

Think about it: one of the goals is that 100% of students have to pass the state high-stakes tests or not pass to the next grade. What kind of test has a 100% passing rate? Not any test that has reliability or validity, that's for sure.

It feels like a noose slowly tightening. It has for years, but NCLB has sped up the process considerably.

2. the 'market'-privitization is what they are substituting social programs
with. simple as that. There is to be no more for the 'social good". It is everyone for himself

5. What do they intend to put in place of programs which advance Americans?
Their own power, period. The rest of humanity simply does not exist in their space of power over the world. They serve only themselves and EXPECT us to serve them.

I know,...a really gross perception of a position that is supposed to be about serving the interests of others. But,...that is their power-mongering position: it's all about them on the backs of us.

*sigh* What an abuse of power.

6. Your first two sentences say it all. I never thought of it in that way.
I have fought each separate battle. That is my new talking point. The Republicans are trying to dismantle everything, the judiciary, social security, public education, the UN.

If anyone can think of another program, feel free to amend.
