My mother just publically said she left the republican party
My town is having a new mayor race and the guy I'm voting for just came by our house to meet us and talk to us. I told him I was voting for him since I liked him since he was non-partisan and has tons of experience in the political arena (he's an indie he said so that was cool). While we were talking to him my mother told him she left the republican party after being with it for years. The cool thing was a guy with him was a republican so he heard this. :) I was surprised my Mother said this because last November she voted straight democratic except for our Congerssman. Last month she told me next year in 2006 she was going to vote straight democratic. :) So I just wanted to share. :)

1. It's happening here in Ohio for Coleman
NO ONE WITH ANY COMMON SENSE IS VOTING FOR BLACKWELL OR ANY OF HIS CRONIES. At least the ones that have talked to me.

11. Actually I'm changing party affiliation
to Independent to send a message to the Franklin Co. Democratic Party. They really need to wake up and get their asses in gear. Right now I feel no candiadate speaks for me and I'll show that by changing my affiliation. Let's face it, Coleman is a "do-nothing" candidate. What has he done for Columbus? What does he have to run on? If the Republicans use their usual tactics then it's futile. I urge you also to change your affiliation at the the time of the primary to send this message to the Democratic Party. I'll still vote Dem but I need to send the message.

19. I'm heavily considering doing the same thing...go Independent
Was in a state sponsored Indy website looking around. Apparently they are trying to incorporate all other parties who like to think "outside the box". I'm intrigued.

I would still be voting Dem 95%...I'm one of those who prefers to vote the issues, not just the party.

Over time, both parties have let their constituents down big time. I can't fathom why, in the year 2005, we still stagger under the weight of only TWO parties!

Bravo to the mom who was brave enough to step outside her party affiliation and say NO MORE.

22. I was independent for 20 years...finally decided I needed to get off ...
my butt, and get involved w/ the party politics, (as frustrating and distatesful as that can be at times). The only people that can affect the outcome of the game are the ones that get on the field and play. I'm not preachin' or chastising you, I understand your frustration - I just don't think walking away will have any appreciable affect

I've been trying to get people like you to act responsibly. I'm done. You're on your own. Reap what you've sown.

20. Agreed, they're becomming more and more common
Should be interesting when we still watch Blackwell win by some 'miracle', then hopefully the excrament will strike the air circulation and movement device.

21. Yep. I haven't seen anyone switching from Dem to Rep lately.
The momentum is on our side, if we could just give this rock around the Reps' neck a push and send it over the cliff.

3. Make sure she changes her Party affiliation.
I suspect a lot of Republican Kerry voters had their votes borrowed. They'd be the low hanging fruit to pick.

I fill her in with all the stuff I read here since it doesn't make MSM. ;) I was a lil surprised myself though. I was just glad she was going to vote democratic in the next election. We were talking about how there will never be investigation's on stuff unless the democrats take over again. I'm glad people in Ohio aren't voting Blackwell. GOOD! I wish 2006 would hurry up and get here. (I'm a pretty impatient person heh heh). Oh and also on the votes being borrowed I wouldn't doubt it. Go to cspan.org and type in their search engine "Cliff Arnebeck." He has an interview with the Washington Journal and he was basically saying that's what happened.

5. Everytime I see a post like this, I try to add this comment.
Just voting Democrat isn't good enough....we need to get converts to realize this exploit. To these criminals, being registered a Republican means you vote Republican. Period. We cannot let them them steal our right to change governments in 2006.

6. Right
I'll try to bring it up. Here we do vote with paper ballots and political party isn't listed on our registration forums. When I registered last November there wasn't any place to indicate what party you were of so I dunno.

9. In Freedom's state, you don't register by party.
I understand that, as we don't either in Texas. So there's nothing to change. You just start voting the way you want, and your voting record will reflect the change.

If Freedom's mom really wanted to be on the DNC rolls, she could give a $10 donation or something to the DNC.

15. Last month I was telling her
all about Arnold's mess in California and how he was screwing over the nurses and stuff and she just casually went "that's how all republicans are." :hippie: She voted for Bush in 2000 but now doesn't care for any of them. I'm still working on my dad. ;) I got him to watch the "Daily Show" so who knows. :)
