MLK Jr. most outspoken foreign policy critic endorsed by MSM?
Would you say MLK jr was the only mainstream figure who admitted to massive immorality in US foreign policy? I know there are figures who made small apologies and changes, like Clinton and Carter. But I'm pretty sure the only huge condemnation by a wholly accepted figure would come from MLK jr. If you don't believe me, you should find a copy of "Beyond Vietnam" and read it.

1. Dr. King
I'm not sure if he was the only one, but he was certainly one of the most vocal, and most eloquent.

When I read Dr. King's speechs on Vietnam, it's amazing to me because all you really have to do is substitute Vietnam for Iraq!!!!!

The more things change, the more they stay the same!

2. I know there are popular americans like Zinn and Chomsky that have been
critical, but I don't believe the mainstream media has ever endorsed them. Meanwhile, Dr. King is chosen as a hero by even Bill O'Reilly (who even said we need "another" Dr. King, despite the fact he is about the antithesis of such a figure).

3. "A Time to Break Silence,"
the speech also known as "Beyond Vietnam," was the greatest speech in American history. It does go beyond what RFK was proposing at the same time. However, it does not go quite as far as Malcolm.

4. He only receives a LIMITED endorsement now, almost none then
Think about it - how many times have you seen clips from any other speeches he made besides "I Have a Dream"? I'm willing to bet that most of Corporate Media today are not even aware of his other eloquent words and if they are, that's why you never hear them being broadcast. The one that we do hear is hard to find fault with, even by some rightwingers. But catch him making a speech about poor people's rights or against the war, forget it.

To answer your question, NO, there is nobody else like that being broadcast today. I think that's because there IS nobody else like him around today, period.
