Shallow assessment on Bolton: Just LOOK at this freaking guy!
Shag-dog hair (or is it a horrendous wig?), Wilford Brimley mustache, John Lennon glasses...

Seriously, does anyone sane really want this guy being our sole representative before the world? What a freak!

1. He is an embarrasment
He is representing the US. Besides his radical views, we should at least find a representative that doesn't look like he just rolled out of bed

2. I think it is important to portray a certain image to the UN.
While I called this "shallow" in the title of this thread, the argument is not without merit. This guy is sitting before Congress and looks like a freaking train wreck.

3. You know what?
I saw a photo of him and thought he looked friendly and innocuous, and about my age (is that the problem for you??). He's not friendly and innocuous, of course, he's a maniac -- or more accurately a NeoCon -- but that's just not apparent from his looks that I could see.

But the important point I want to make is this: How shallow (and unprogressive) of you to focus on his looks. Do you have nothing substantive to complain about in his regard?

6. Umm...I freely said it was a "shallow assessment"
And read my above post...I think that it is important to portray a certain visual image to the world. Age has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not this moron can go to Supercuts every two weeks.

15. Come on El
lighten' up. It's fun to make fun of assholes like Bolton. Unfortunately one's looks tell a lot about a person and visuals have more impact upon people than words. If it makes the zombies see what a jerk he is, then so what?

7. Par for the course. I'll be disappointed if he doesn't get the job
Frankly, we NEED Bolton in the UN to continue Bush's proud tradition of appointing foxes to oversee henhouses.

who looks like Bolton and has a hot temper -- he was arrested under terroristic threatening and other charges.

Take a look at the pic. This guy, and Bolton, give me the creeps.

16. and he's a nailbiter, and not just a nibbler
his nails are bitten down to the quick. Not a good sign of a stable person in my opinion although I have no professional qualifications, I've never met a habitual nailbiter that didn't have serious issues..

13. I'm convinced that Bork was, well, Borked because of appearance.
Bork looked like Satan. I think he was easy to condemn because (fairly or not) people judge books by their covers.

Perhaps our Dems can rally support for this most superficial of reasons, huh?
