Newt's Words: another great post from Arianna's site!

"Around a decade ago, there was a man by the name of Newt, who must have decided his party needed to take drastic measures in order to stop the evil liberals from moving forward. So he got busy and started learning the true art of propaganda. As a result of his learning, he devised a pamphlet that he in turn mailed out to all party members aligned with his cause. The pamphlet was titled, “Language, A Key Mechanism of Control”. The pamphlet in question contained two cheat sheets. The first sheet was to be used to describe anyone friendly to the campaign and the other to describe opponents.

Each of the lists contain powerfully charged words that when used together regularly, can affect the way we think.

Note: This brochure was generated by American Politicians, in the United States of America for use in the “Control” of U.S. Citizens. The audacity! Why didn’t I think of it?

This is the list of “positive, governing words” friendly candidates were told to utilize regularly when discussing themselves or topics and persons friendly to their campaign:

Active(ly), Activist, Building, Candid(ly), Care(ing), Challenge, Change, Children, Choice, Choose, Citizen, Commitment, Common Sense, Compete, Confident, Conflict, Control, Courage, Crusade (this one has been scratched from the list for obvious reasons), Debate, Dream, Duty, Eliminate good-time in prison, Empower(ment), Fair, Family, Freedom, Hard Work, Help, Humane, Incentive, Initiative, Lead, Learn, Legacy, Liberty, Light, Listen, Mobilize, Moral, Movement, Opportunity, Passionate, Peace (oh, the irony), Pioneer, Precious, Premise, Preserve, Principle(d), Pristine, Pro-(insert issue here), Prosperity, Protect, Proud, Pride, Provide, Reform, Rights, Share, Strength, Success, Tough, Truth, Unique, Vision, We, Us, Our, Workfare.

Do those words sound familiar? I’ll bet they do, because you have been plastered with them for the past ten years. The following is the list of negatively charged words that candidates were encouraged to use when casting doubts about their opponents:

Anti-(insert issue here), Betray, Coercion, Collapse, Consequences, Corruption, Crisis, Decay, Deeper, Destroy, Destructive, Devour, Endanger, Failure, Greed, Hypocrisy, Ideological, Impose, Incompetent, Insecure, Liberal, Lie, Limit(s), Pathetic, Permissive Attitude, Radical, Self-serving, Sensationalist, Shallow, Sick, They, Them, Threaten, Traitors, Unionized Bureaucracy, Urgent, Waste.

Don’t read that last list more than once; it has been known to cause depression or even suicide – yes the fatal kind. So it’s easy to see why our country has become so divided. Our leaders are using language every day that is so powerful and divisive that it can serve no other purpose than to breed hate and fear. More importantly... CONTROL."

1. But he left congress with his tail tucked between his legs
for his "womanizing". Followed by Livingston. Those Republicans who just revere family values.

2. Womanizing isn't what did Newt in
Newt Gingrich was a former Georgia history professor elected in 1979 to the U.S. House of Representatives. Ambitious, conservative and outspoken, by 1995 he had become Speaker of the House and the de facto leader of the G.O.P., considered responsible for gaining a Republican majority in the election of 1994. Never popular with the public at large, in 1997 Gingrich's image was further damaged when he was fined $300,000 for ethics violations. After a disappointing Republican showing in the 1998 election, Gingrich resigned the Speakership and his seat in Congress.

3. Is my memory wrong?
I believe Newt left when Flynt got the goods on his sexual activities with an aide in the well, while Newt was in on the impeachment hearings of Bush.

5. Nope
see my info posted above.

Womanizing scandal never touched Newt.

However, it did force Livingston to resign.

7. Do you have an article that outlines that? Thanks
Newt has always been a womanizer. I believe this was highlighted when he tried to look down on Clinton. Thanks.
