Sometimes In April
Edited on Sat Apr-09-05 06:46 PM by dsc
I am watching Sometimes in April, which is HBO's movie about Rowanda, and it is just wrenching. Rowanda is truely Clinton's biggest mistake. It would have taken so few US Marines to put a stop to that killing but we didn't do it. We 'learned' the lessons of Somolia. Sadly, Bush will make it even harder for us to interceed in something like this after his Iraq adventure. I recommend this movie if you don't mind being bummed out.

1. Caught the end of it
A couple days ago in a hotel room. Spent the last 15 minutes sobbing along with the characters. And that closing scene . . . incredible.

2. Yeah unreal
This is actually not nearly as good as Hotel Rowanda which focused on the Colonial Hotel if critics are to be believed and I thought this was a great film.

3. I saw it the other night.
I felt ashamed for America. I tried to avoid watching but finally gave in. I'm glad I watched it but it did leave a bad taste in my mouth.

4. I was watching that also today
I can't stop thinking about it. It was so brutal without actually showing actual violence.

5. That's just it
It's not visualizing the violence, it's seeing aftermath.

Like the scene where he goes back to his daughter's school, to find the two women stacking bodies.
