Hundreds of volunteers in avian flu vaccine trials.

Where do they find these volunteers? I could understand the one guys reasoning,but I am too chicken :) to do it for $500.

1. Lots of people out there need the money

I used to do clinical research and recruit 'normal' volunteers for studies. It's easy to find people willing to 'prostitute' their bodies for science. Keep in mind, that these studies are reviewed from an human ethics standpoint.

...U.S. researchers said they'll know within the next month if the trial vaccine is safe. It will take longer to determine if the vaccine actually triggers people to produce antibodies. If so, larger studies will then test the vaccine in children and seniors...
