Don't wait for someone else, just DO IT!
In a new post - "We need to get off our computerized asses & out into the streets" - http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x1703967

...we are asked to stop our on-line whining and DO SOMETHING.

The best way I can think of starting is to connect locally with other DU members through www.meetup.com

1. To find existing DU groups, go to http://du.meetup.com/groups/?all=1
A. Scroll or
B. Search by zip code.

2. Can't find a local meet-up group? Start one of your own.
A. Register.
B. Create.
C. Post a message in your state's forum announcing the creation of the new group.

3. Advertise. Add a link to your DU meet-up group in your signature line.

Don't wait for someone else, just DO IT!

1. Or, if there is no DU group, why not look for an existing group.
For example, Democracy for America, your local Democratic party meetup, something like that?

There are a LOT of groups out there which you can join if there is no DU meetup and you wish to get involved but maybe not start right off by starting your own meetup.

Also try dropping by your state forum to see what's going on!

2. Good points
I didn't mention that once a member of meetup.com, one can search for and join many other worthy groups.

It is very simple to use and leads to rapidly expanding your circle of friends.

3. Nice
Yeah, I've been a member of DFA, but they are not meeting locally. I need to find somewhere to take action!
