Jerry Springer on AAR
What's this bullsh*t! I want Rachel Maddow and Unfiltered back mornings 9 till 12 on Air America Radio! Not only has this guy built a majority of his broadcasting career on smut peddling, he devoted the first hour of his programming this morning to the Pope and religion. Don't fall for this sh*t Jerry, this is exactly what the propaganda ministry and the media WANT you to concentrate on. ANYTHING but the military actions that are transpiring in the Middle East, while tensions with Iran, Syria, and Venezuela heat up.

One of the biggest 'insurgent' attacks since "mission accomplished" happened Saturday when the Abu Gharib prison facility was attacked, wounding 20 American lives while illegally occupying a country and detaining individuals without charges nor legal counsel. Where was THIS news item in the "liberal" media over the weekend? Buried in Sunday newspapers while the Schiavo circus winds down and PopeWatch 2005 creates yet another smoke screen for the War Criminals occupying the White House.

Wolfowitz is set to take the stage as World Bank President, Negorponte and Bolton, are being promoted to extremely powerful positions.

Don't fall for this sh*t Jerry, Rachel would have seen RIGHT through this sh*t during her programming this morning and devoted a respectful nanosecond to the Pope's passing, not create an entire program out of it.

2. I like the way Jerry talks to and draws out his callers.
IMO, he appears to be more interested in understanding them than a lot of what you hear on AAR.

6. In other words, she spoke to the choir.
If you want to remain a static force, the Maddow is the way to go. But you need to remember that Springer has actually served as a mayor of a decent-sized US city, Cincinnati. He has a sense of how to break things down to a lowest common denominator w/o losing the essence of the philosophy.

In short, he's the kind of guy that could possibly convert a few fence-straddlers, or even conservative listeners, to the liberal side. I fail to see how that is in any way a bad thing.

7. Oh, having said that, I'll admit it was a good show...
It's just a sad admission to make. What is lost w/Maddow's show is the forum for the underreported acpects and edgy biting revelations.

I do not think that was 'preaching to the chior', but what is done is done. I hope he suceeds in garnering/educating the idiots out there. Lord knows there are much more of them than us. We need the idiot vote too.

5. this is the second time I have listened to Springer
Edited on Mon Apr-04-05 11:59 AM by Malva Zebrina
I knew nothing about him at all. Never saw him on TV, and never read a thing about him anywhere.

I think he had a point this morning in talking about relgion and that was that we, in this country, have independence built into our identity as Americans. We value our independence to make decisions in spite of religious teachings. That is why Jews might decide to eat pork and drive cars on Saturday, and at the same time, follow the religion and call themeselves Jews. This goes for so call cafeteria Catholics also, who would follow much of the religion, but see nothing wrong with using birth control and still call themeselves Catholics

Whether you agree or not with his point, his format seems to be more philosophical musing than, say Randi, who has reams of papers in front her and can cite any fact to back up her points and does some teaching while she is at it. I also like Rachel very much.

Malloy will tackle the religion issue also, while Randi has said that she will not discuss religion. For Springer to test the waters with this is pretty bold, imo.

So, I will listen to Springer a few more times. He has only started on AAR. I listened to Franken for weeks out of a joy and loyalty to AAR, before I couldn't stand him anymore and never listen to him now at all.
