confidential Vatican document calls for absolute secrecy on sexual abuse
a confidential Vatican document, written in 1962, that lays out a church policy on sexual abuse by priests. The document calls for absolute secrecy when it comes to these cases, warning that anyone who speaks out could be thrown out of the church.

It was the official position of the Vatican to cover pedophilia up at any cost and of coarse we all know what that evil policy caused..

2. And people get angry at me when I don't feel sympathy for the pope dying.
Go figure.

5. When did he become a Cardinal
Was he a Bishop in 1962?

Just some interesting things to take into consideration.

6. It matters because he continued to uphold this horrid, evil policy
and continued to cover up for pedophile priests.

By turning a blind eye to the sin and corruption within the church, JP made himself as bad as the rest of them. I don't care that we've all been convinced that JP was such a sweet little old man, don't let the cute smile fool you. He was as bad as the rest of them.

The only thing I fear is that the next pope will be worse, much worse.

8. Probably not,
considering THIS pope gave cardinal law a cushy job at the vatican instead of leaving him in Boston to face charges.

10. You too??
I really am sickened by this whole charade...
Lets see, they pick the pope not based on how good or holy he is, but by pure church politics.
THEY say it is GOD that picks the pope, when, you know, it's just a bunch of guys that wear dresses.
So, if I got this right, THEY think that they are god.

And ,oh yeah, I was abused when I was a boy and I have 1 thing to say to these pedophile enabler bastards...FUCK YOU!
Fucking bunch of scammers.
Bunch of freaks, if you ask me.

16. You of all people should be heard on this.
I'm sorry what you had to go through, and sorry too that the largest religious organization in the world didn't care.

4. The font is all wrong for a 1962 document. Looks like a Word doc.

17. That DOC. is an English translation from Latin, it isn't the original
and it is hosted by CBS but I've seen it on other sites including a Catholic one.

This is a link to the official church DOC in Latin, official Latin version (PDF)

14. Yes, one of JPII's predecessors
issuing an edict saying that any churchman who turned one of these pedophile priests over to the law would face excommunication.

They actively covered up the systematic abuse of children.

This needs a kick to remind people it's not all sunshine & rainbows with the Catholic Church.
