Freepers in DC for March "for justice" this Thursday April 7
Pre rally dinner on Wednesday at Tom Sarris' Orleans House restaurant in Rosslyn, Virginia at 7 p.m.

Thursday's after rally dinner will be held at the Cap City Brewing Co. located at 2 Massachusetts Avenue, NW

Rally to be held at Upper Senate Park?

If you do not want to dine with a bunch of Freepers then you probably want to avoid those restaurants on Wed and Thur.

Also avoid the park on Thur.

32. They'll never be happy....
though oppressing others and spreading misery does seem to help some.

5. If you read the fine print

it's the march against justice.

It's in opposition to liberal activist judges.

On edit: it's also a march because they got their cars towed.

But there's one more battle in Pinellas Park that needs to be fought... one more injustice that needs to be righted, on behalf of so many people that sacrificed so much to come and support Terri.

Supporters of Terri Schiavo have been RIPPED OFF of over $20,000 -- and we need to STOP this financial assault on free speech, NOW.

Thousands of Terri Schiavo supporters have made their pilgrimage to Pinellas Park, Florida over the past few weeks to peacefully assemble and pray. Local police frequently directed them to park in the large Winn-Dixie Supermarket parking lot across the street from the Woodside Hospice. It was literally a "Winn-win" situation. Demonstrators, thirsty from the hot Florida sun, purchased water and Gatoraid by the truckloads from Winn-Dixie and surrounding retailers. The economy in Woodside Hospice enclave never looked so good. That was until TODAY, when dozens, perhaps hundreds, of Schiavo supporters walked out of Winn-Dixie to their cars, only to find that their cars had VANISHED.

Why? Because EVK Enterprises, Inc., the property management company renting space to Winn-Dixie, began towing cars with a redemption fee of $161 PER CAR. An estimated 150 cars were towed, for fees in excess of $20,000 -- ALL IN CASH!

They're marching because those lazy fatasses no longer have vehicular transport.

26. So stupid
They're so stupid. If they want to talk about free speech being taken away they should go and witness an anti-war protest stupid freeps. And don't most store's have a rule that if you're not shopping you can't leave your car there and they have the right to toe it if it's taking up parking spaces for customers??

10. At Least They're Organizing And Getting Together
I don't see the similar activities by DU members...organizing and using this website as something more than a bitching post.

13. Beg pardon. A lot of us have been organizing in our communities, and
marching. This year, two marches already. First march, there were somewhere between 2000-2500. TeeVee New$ reported 250 max. Second march, no reporting.

It's like this, Corporate TeeVee NewS will be there in force on April 7th to inflate the numbers and call for violence against judges.

Letters don't get published. Letters don't get answered. We don't exist. The National Press invite Gannon to tell them about bloggers.

DU is too spread out. Look to your community for activism.

19. Here It Goes Again...
I've posted at least once or twice a day for weeks encouraging people to get involved in their local Democratic party offices. This is the time to party build and start creating a infrastructure where the party starts to compete in Purple and Red areas and raise the money and start hitting the streets for a critical election that's 18 months away.

Those posts rarely get responded to.

I've also tried to find out about other candidates or local Democratic party organizations that are doing what my local one is doing...and if they are accepting donations to help them along. I've gotten ONE PM from a bona fide campaign...not someone's vanity blog or website (sorry bank is closed to those donations).

I've been involved in local campaigns and still am...and we get precious little assistance from the national party. This is a systemic problem that is hurting this party and one people here are ignoring.

Look for all the reasons NOT to think Democrats will win and they won't. In many parts of the country there are no local organizations or poorly funded and functioning ones that go up again well-established Repugnican operations.

Yes, DU is too spread out and too personality-based now. When I see threads in a "General Discussion" forum based on what one poster said or meant...and not dialogue, its speaks volumes to how this tremendous resource has and is being squandered.

20. I think most of us are involved. I am. And I contribute at the local
level (we are broke.) Howard Dean is doing a fantastic job getting locals up and running. Last election was awful from a local stand point in the red, red area.

But, I do come here to bitch. To listen. To talk. I don't look at DU as an organizing effort, but rather a place to blow off steam.

28. When I come to DU
I come to communicate with others, learn something that's going on, talk to others etc. It's a community place. I don't expect to work on anything here. I can do that locally if I wanted I'm sure. I'm just so booked down with school now so I don't complain since I'm not doing anything myself.

31. Your 'posts' for organizing might not get responded to because
Edited on Mon Apr-04-05 12:49 AM by Ouabache
the people that are out organizing are out organizing, not sitting here responding to your posts. Maybe YOU should be posting less and organizing MORE in YOUR community? If you already are, then good for you.
