Pope John Paul and the Pedophiel Scandal...
what about the pedophile scandal that went on under his nose for so long? And still is. He was a priest all his life, how could he not know? Or do anything? Did he? What?

1. From an AP story
Another disappointment came late in his papacy — the clergy sexual abuse scandal that convulsed the church in the United States.

John Paul took the extraordinary step of summoning America's cardinals to the Vatican in 2002 and told them in no uncertain terms that there was "no place in the priesthood and religious life for those who harm the young."

It seemed as if he had taken the scandal personally, and he offered his "profound sense of solidarity and concern" to the victims.

3. I guess JP wasn't infalable
after all.

Maintaining the status quo was more important to him, it seems.

4. I think he made a deal with the devil, because the devil
hid in the "conservative" wing of the church, which he promoted.

To not harm his agenda, and even risk shattering the church with a radical housecleaning, he adopted a burden of silence regarding paedophilia and ritual abuse. Big mistake, in many ways.
