"American Death Watch" The news for a nation of lemmings.
Cruise the cable and air wave news and what ya' gonna hear?

All about a girl in a coma and a guy in a funny hat.

Both dead.

Not much chance of breaking news with either of them.

Unless MJ gets caught in the back seat with a pack of Cub Scouts, I'm pretty sure we aren't likely to hear much about anything else for a while.

Nothing on anything that matters. Abu Ghraib, Ken Lay, The Plame Investigation, WMD, Tom Delay's ethics... etc.

Pass the Soma and whiskey. I want to get off this bloody carousel.

1. Well...
1. The girl wasn't in a coma, she was in a persistent vegetative state. And now she's dead.

2. The Pope is far more than just a, "guy in a funny hat." :eyes:

2. the media is clueless
On a daily basis, there is an incredible amount of important news worldwide that the mainstream media opts to ignore. I don't know who makes the decisions for programming at these news stations, but they are all absolutely awful (and bias) at it.

4. With any luck, Falwell takes a dive.
I mean, his 'cone of protection' is lifted.

5. Yes, death of a head of state and leader of 1.1 Billion people
is less important than the outing of 1 CIA agent...:eyes:

9. There need not be
an either or situation. Both are important stories, especially if an agent were on to people or situation that involved the taking of innocent lives,

It is unfortunate that the press only has the talent to blanket one story at a times.

It makes me curious as to all the crap that ** and Co. will be getting away with in the next week or so.

6. The "guy in the funny hat" was a bit more than that to quite a few people
regardless of you impression.

7. Right. To equate the two is ludicrous.
The Holy Father was the leader of one billion Catholic. Terri Schiavo was a woman in a vegetative state for 15 years. Both are dead. That's the only similarity.

8. The Pope's death is being used as promotional event for CatholicismTM
just as Terry Schiavos death was used to promote the "Culture of Life"TM. The marketing of death.
