2. Me Too. We Still Had Hope Back Then
Edited on Wed Mar-30-05 12:21 AM by AndyTiedye
Many of us dared to think we might actually get our country back.
We had so many good candidates, any of whom would have been a huge
improvement over the mad cowboys, and by any historical measure no
President with such a disasterous first term could possibly be reelected.

We never stood a chance.

It does not matter how good and how eloquent our candidate is
if he is subjected to a media blackout while the incumbent gets
unlimited airtime and ads disguiesed as "news" for free.
It does not matter how many votes we get, if the other side can
manufacture as many votes as they need to beat us.

It seems so long ago now.

On Edit: No it's not that bad, it's a hell of a lot worse.

5. I don't.
I figure anybody who puts himself up to be scrutinized and slandered wrongly by those rightwing nut jobs deserves respect, if not for that reason alone. this is in spite of whatever nit picky qualms I had about him.

6. None Of The Others Would Have Survived the Rovian Slime
Look how easily they took down Howard Dean --
From frontrunner to nothing overnight over a "scream" that was
largely a figment of the microphone.

It didn't really work on Kerry. It just kept it close enough to steal.
And steal they did.

We Make Democracy DIE
