"Breaking the DaVinci Code".........DO NOT RENT THIS POS
Having an interest in Dan Brown's "The DaVinci Code", I rented this DVD with the idea of better informing myself about the subject. What I got was, a christian fundamentalist whack job of the worst kind.

I'm not saying I agree with all of Brown's suppositions in the book. However, with no warning on the DVD whatsoever, I was treated to a fully christianized hit job on everything the book suggests. I looked up the producers...."Grizzly Adams Productions".......... http://www.grizzlyadams.tv/

Gee, golly gosh......wholesome "family entertainment" that includes videos of our savior, george bush, along with other mind wrenching drivel with one thing in mind. Total control of your minds.

DO NOT, under ANY circumstances be fooled that this POS is an informative record of the subject. I should have known right from the start when they said that "Dan Brown would not comment or let any of his material be used in the production of this DVD".......... I other words, you're getting THEIR interpretation ONLY. :grr:

I printed up a little disclaimer that I'm going to insert in every box containing that DVD/VCR....that this DVD/VCR was produced by a christian fundamentalist corporation that has a vested interest in disproving Dan Brown's book.......etc.

Propaganda disguised as fact.........over and over and over. You have to be on your toes every minute in this country now. :banghead:

1. Well, it is fiction
I'm no scholar of the bible, but even I could tell it contained a lot of half-truths and suppositions. It's interesting that a fundie church is taking it on, since it goes both barrels for the Catholic faith.

There must be a lot of gullible people out there. I read not long ago that the louvre (spoiler alert if you haven't read it) has actually gotten a few calls from people asking if Mary Magdalene's grave/bones are part of a tour.

2. The Louvre is doing great business
They now host a "da Vinci Code" tour which features many of the places and works of art described in the book.

But, back to the OP, I heard the author of the book "Cracking the Da Vinci Code" on a local talk radio station. The man was allowed to sound off for more than an hour. According to him, anyone who isn't a Christian is a "pagan." Also, anything evil is "pagan." That was the last day I ever listened to that program and I've since given up on the radio station as a whole.

What I find most amusing is that Brown's book is in the fiction department at bookstores... many times they stock the 'debunker' books close by (also in the fiction dept)! :)

4. Of course it's fiction................
but so are their assertions. What I'm against is blatantly producing this crap as "breaking" the code and being objective about the subject, when it's nothing more than their wholly biased interpretation.
I guess I'm sorta pissed off that I wasted $4.00 to rent this POS (NEW RELEASE) and that money will go to these propaganda artists. :banghead:

6. As he says in the disclaimer in the book
the artwork described is real, everything else is made up.

But it is a fun story.

3. Did you ever see that creepy but campy sequel to Halloween
where the story left Michael and went to this theme of hypnotizing people into ??/ (barely remember this awful movie) through the tv?

Sometimes things I read make me wonder if that movie inspired some wackos ...

8. Did you watch History Channel's 'Beyond the Da Vinci Code'? It
was on Sunday night, 2 hours. Unfortunately, I feel asleep and didn't see but about half of it.
