Poll question: Who is the most hypocritical repug?
We have a true cornucopia of choices. There are literally thousands, and I can not begin to even scratch the surface with this poll. So feel free to add your own. That's half the fun!

3. Cheney is the personification of the new Republican ethic
greed, selfishness and hatred are not only acceptable but desirable. The rest are just cheap imitators maintaining some sort of delusion that they are doing what's "right for America" Cheney is not just a follower of Leo Strauss' ideals he is the ubermensch and representative of those ideals.

5. Toss-up between Joe Lieberman and Zell Miller.
Repugs make it obvious enough to anyone but a moron that they are evil.

DINOS are MORE hypocritical because they have the nerve to pretend to be democrats while promoting a pro-oligarchy, pro-war agenda.

6. You need a new poll. One that asks Who ISN'T a hypocrite?
That'd be easy! Let me think. Sorry, times up!

9. Well it wouldn't be much of a poll
with no choices, but I suppose it would make the point just as well, wouldn't it?:)

11. And all this time I assumed republican was a synonym for hypocrite.
I mean, it just seemed so obvious....are there any republicans that are not hypocrites?

Try to name one. I can't think of any.

18. Chris Shays seems like a decent Republican.
And he did vote against the Terri Schiavo legislation.

In fact, here is a statement he made, posted at his website ( http://www.house.gov/shays/news/2005/march/marchterri.htm ) :

“My heart goes out to Terri Schiavo, her parents, and family, and, yes, even to her husband. My heart goes out to everyone who may have found themselves in a similar situation in the past or might find themselves in a similar situation in the future.

I wanted to stay back in Connecticut and avoid having to cast a vote because I do not want to play God, and either way I vote I feel I am. We all know this is a time for real thoughtfulness and wisdom and inspiration, and I believe that is what we are all trying to do. On both sides of the aisle we ask ``Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my Strength and my Redeemer.''

Sanctity of life, sanctity of marriage, sanctity of an individual to decide for themselves what should happen to their own life, I find myself wondering why is there so much focus on this life when we ignore the countless lives throughout the world who die minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day from hunger and disease that this Congress could address and this Congress could prevent? Why only Terri when there are others like her in our country?

The only way this bill has any legitimacy is if it applies to all cases, not just Terri's, and that is what concerns me. How deep is this Congress going to reach? How deep is this Congress going to reach into the personal lives of each and every one of us?”

I'm not wild about the "even her husband" comment, as if he's somehow less worthy of compassion, but I think overall it's pretty classy.

Any other decent Republicans? Ya got me there!
