Saint Michael
A quick episode today shows what kind of heart this gentlemen has. The parent's requested communion for their daughter on Easter. He refused, finally when he relented she could only receive it with the hospice's minister's hand between the priest's hand and Terri. Saint Michael shows his true colors. This guy has a mean streak a mile long.

She can't take communion, buddy. She can't eat, and they don't liquify the eucharist.

Looks like the fundies are making stuff up to push everyone's buttons. Disgusting to play off people's religion that way.

I am hardly a fundamenatalist. My family dragged me to church today. I go for my kids. They have asked me to be catholic. I have never become a catholic. I have not practiced religion since I was 12 and then it was for my parents. I went to church a grand total of 20 times in my life. But once again, I am a fundamenatlist. You people amaze me.

18. Didn't you know?
Fundamentalist right wing christians have all become experts in Catholicism.

In their churches, the very concept of the sacrament of the eucharist is anathema. But they are the first to decide when catholics must have it (Schiavo) and when they shouldn't (Kerry).

I think Mormon Orrin Hatch informed Dick Durbin, a practicing catholic, that Durbin only opposed certain judges out of anti catholic bias.

Sorry, I have no idea what you are talking about.

It's INSANE to sit there and snarkily call this guy "Saint Michael" and decide all kinds of things about him based on this. It's also insane to spread lies about him abusing her when there is NO evidence of it, and don't you think if there were, there'd have been a criminal and/or a civil case brought against him YEARS ago?

Geez, THINK about things. Think them through. Think about motivation and look who are backing the parents. RANDALL TERRY'S GROUP. Read up on them. These are the same people who have no problem whoring out Jesus in the name of KILLING abortion doctors.

Wouldn't let her have communion, my ass. THERE'S NO REASON FOR HER TO TAKE COMMUNION! She's had her last rites, for crying out loud! I would think, if your kids and wife are Catholic you'd at least know that. I'm not even Catholic and I knew that. It was a power play, just one more thing they thought they'd try to make him look all baaaaad and evil and you just fell right the hell for it.

This must have been for Easter. Its all a shame IMO. Such a spectacle and farce. They are free to do what they want I guess, but she is gone and has been. This is her body kept alive by a non life sustaining amount of the brain and a tube of plastic. Persistive vegetative states indicate no brain activity or "flat line". Her cerebral cortex is 70% gone and liquified. I'm not insensitive, just being factual. I tend to err on the side of life when life has a chance. This doesn't fit.

26. Geez - another thread about Schiavo
I can understand that the media has no integrity and that our politicians have lost most of theirs and so a case about a single woman becomes a sensationalist story where every minute detail is reported with the urgency usually rserved for news of, I don't know, a WAR maybe. They've done it with Jackson, Blake, Peterson, and now Schiavo...and while the American public is distracted by these blown-out-of-proportion individual stories we're in the dark about votes on ANWAR and bankruptcy.

But I can't understand why it's consumed DU to this point.

man. They treated him as a son, encouraged him to date, lived together after her collapse...MS became a RN so that he could provide treatment for Terri. They were very friendly until they disagreed on the best course of treatment. Then all the allegations of abuse, murder, etc., began.

If my in-laws and I were in a similar situation, I wouldn't be too eager to let the Schindlers do what they want, whether it was "kind" or not.

I'm not saying that anyone's a complete sinner or saint, but if someone was saying things about you that have only come up since you disagreed on something, would *you* take very kindly to allowing them to indulge themselves?

It's humanness. No one is perfect; there are no absolute saints or devils.

I mean really?
Can logic be so far removed from faith and not become ludicrous at some point?
Religious fanatics in this country are bringing down the walls right on top of themselves.

Time for another Reformation, I guess.

I predict serious changes coming to the "Pro Life " movement-- the moderates won't be able to run fast enough and the Catholics will realize that the hardcare Southern Evangelicals still think they worship the Whore of Babylon behind thier backs and that could perhaps splinter them and throw them into the fringes for good. Yes?
