2. If we think the WB is morally bankrupt now,
wait until wolfowitz brings his "compassion" on board.

I felt so bad for him when he was talking about "his" country USA not even meeting the .07 percent of aid to end poverty that all the other countries have pledged-- and here comes US with .015 percent gdp. *sigh*

however, I think he's a better interview than speaker-- his slow deliberate way of explaining things put those I was with to sleep, after I had insisted we watch because he'd been a great interview on Air America.

Just now, on Meet the Press, they had Humphrey talking from the JFK election about religion and he used words like peace and poverty-- we never, never, never hear that in this administration.

I'm reading "The People's Business" right now (about how to reign in this out of control corporate power). The introduction points out that the swing/change began in the mid 70s. It's the last 30 years that have changed the world-- damn! that was quick. All I remember from the 70s was getting a little burned out on all the environmentalist stuff (hey, I was a kid).

To hear Sachs say we "COULD" end poverty and then lay out how easy it would be, just makes me want to sit down and cry, too.
