For combat veterans only: benefits of combat experience
I have always been curious about this. Now that I have stuck my cyber-foot in my mouth about Vietnam, do any of you combat vets feel the combat experience was good for you in any way ? This applies to any combat experience, not just Vietnam.

6. Beyond the recruiting bull (team building, leadership)
my most important lessons were --
1. Never trust the government.
2. Especially Presidents from Texas.
3. And, especially Presidents from Texas (LBJ, Bush) who have SecDef's with Harvard MBA's (MacNamara, Rumsfield) --- a lethal combination --a Texas President and a Harvard MBA SecDef.
