How are good journalists not losing their MINDS?
I just watched tonight's Daily Show.

Oh my GOD. Those clips from CNN and FUX are horrendous. Absolutely despicable.

How can anyone even CALL that journalism? It's laughable.

So going off the assumption that there ARE good journalists left, how are they not collectively losing their minds watching their chosen profession turn into...well, sorry but a big steaming pile of shit?

How does Jon Stewart not implode???

1. "good journalists"?
Matthews, Novak, and Scarborough. Who is losing their mind here?

2. Well, all the good journalists
are most likely NOT on TV.

And even though he technically does comedy, I think Jon Stewart would make a KICK ASS journalist.

7. TV has some
but that crowd Stewart called out tonight are not among them.

I think Ted Koppel and Candy Crowley are good.

was going to just start banging his head non-stop against the desk....I swear, at that moment, I thought Jon Stewart and I were going to go into a joint scream at the same time.....

8. I was actually pulling on my hair and my jaw was on the floor.
That's when I wondered the question I asked in the OP.

11. Me too....and then it also suddenely occurred to me that these right wing
evangelical nut cases are actually helping show the "true" nature and leanings of the so-called "liberal" media, its showing that these people are a small percentage of America in their representation (just look at the polls and talk to people, especially Republicans, Libertarians and "true" conservatives) and the fact that these people are giving credibility on a News show to a guy that "talks to dead people" as being evidence of Terri Schiavo's condition is well, NUTS!

Further more, at first I was feeling freaked out about what was happening and OMG what is happening next, but then when I heard Randall Terry on the news last night saying that if politicians like the Bush Bros and other legislators don't "save" Terri, that there would be "hell to pay", then when I have seen the evangelical protestors who are outside the hospice being given airtime and having their prayers sessions and banging the drum for Terri's beating heart and talking about comparisons of Terri to the 2nd coming of Jesus (especially with it being Good Friday and Easter Weekend) and then in an interview with the Brother Paul Catholic Family spiritual advisor who on national tv on CNN and FOX said that both Jeb Bush and Pres. Bush aren't doing enough, I started cracking up because I suddenely realized that their own "base" is turning on them and they are dammned if they do and dammned if they don't!....If Jeb Bush or W go in their with force and try to take custody and shove a feeding tube in that girl, it will be the end of them with every true political conservative and American in this country that values their civil liberties and thinks gov't should stay out of personal family matters and MARRIAGE! Just think of the ads that will be used against Jeb in the '08 elections! Meanwhile, if they don't do anything, their "base" is saying there will be hell to pay, but against whom? Most of the judges that voted against the Schindler's case to get guardianship of Terri and that her rights were being ignored were all Republican appointees! How is that for Judicial Activism? So how is getting Republican appointees on the bench going to help things then? Or could a case be made for the need for more "democrats" since many of the dissenting voices in favor of the Schindlers came from Democrats?

In any event, this absolute heinous invasion of this family's personal ordeal and tragedy for political gain is turning on these pieces of shit and they are going to take major hits for this....

6. Well first Stewart isn't a journalist but good journalists know that their
profession is dieing in favor of Public relations. They are just trying to keep their jobs by whatever means necessary. =(

10. If there ARE any "good journalists" left, they AREN'T on television.
Television is mindless entertainment, and television news consists mostly of simplistic presentation of a version of events slanted to fit whatever it is the networks think the preconceptions of their audience are. Television "journalism" is, like television in general, a dark mirror of the American psyche. Most people don't really want to know what's going on, and can't be bothered to pay attention to in-depth coverage of "serious" issues, because it will require them to THINK. So most TV news consists of stories about celebrities and "human-interest" pieces, and when they DO cover something serious, they highlight the EMOTIONAL rather than factual aspect, because, well, like I said...most people would rather NOT think.
