World's Best Site for free anti-war, pro-justice mp3's
plus some videos, audio from Mike Malloy and Arundhati Roy and MLK and Howard Zinn and so on. But mostly music. All styles and genres, and all honest voices singing and speaking the truth, speaking for the people. The site owner and the artists are asking that you spread the word. Download everything, pick your favorites and burn CD's for everyone you know. We must become the people's media, and CD's like those we create using resources like this can become what the underground papers and community radio stations or pamphleteers were in the past.

Ben Frank, the site creator, says "Name Dropping- somewhere on this page you'll find: Bonnie Raitt, Eddie Vedder, Billy Bragg, Michael Franti, Greenday, REM, Ani Difranco, David Rovics, Greg Palast, Lenny Kravitz, Beastie Boys, John Mellencamp, Paula Cole, Public Enemy, Paris and many more. But don't stop there- these artists you've never heard before- absolutely rock!"

And if that is not enough, there are links to other downloadable collections near the bottom, plus some movies and documentaries.

Get to work. The corporatist media has proven beyond any doubt that they are propagandists for fascism, and our voices will only be heard if we we spread the word ourselves. Net dwellers with broadband can get this stuff for personal use, but the CD's we make can reach people who don't have the relatively unlimited access we have, whether they are constrained by dial-up speeds or have none at all.

5. Another note: The easiest way to download all of this music, etc.
Edited on Fri Mar-25-05 02:59 AM by ConsAreLiars
is to use an automated downloader. I use Firefox as a browser and the Flashgot extension (see http://www.flashgot.net/whats ) combined with a download manager like the one at http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/ . It works well for me, with no downside I can see. Internet Explorer users have a "download all" option, but I'm not sure if it allows the user to select only specific filetypes (like .mp3) or if you'll have to sort out the music files later. Others may want to make some recommendations for that browser or Opera. I found the Firefox/Flashgot combo easy to understand and use.

There's a lot of great music on that site, but tastes differ and you you can't tell much by the name of the group or song unless you've already heard it, so the easiest way to get full value from this site is to get everything and let your ears do the sorting. Many, many hours of listening, but very little work is involved if you use an auto downloader. These artists have put a lot of work into creating this music for us, and we can contribute to their effort by sharing it with others.

(edit for missing word)
