Wait a minute...The new law doesn't even say "INSERT FOOD TUBE NOW"!?

Then WTF did Bush fly to DC for??

How are GOP-types talking about holding the judge in "Contempt of Congress" when the LAW THEY WROTE GIVES HIM AUTHORITY TO RULE ON THE CASE??

I don't care which side of this issue you are on, this law they signed DOES NOT DO A DAMNED THING!

"Despite the sweeping floor statements about "protecting life," the legislation itself did not require the federal courts to start by reinserting Schiavo's feeding tube. And while the bill does give the Schiavo family "jurisdiction and standing" to make an argument in federal court, take a look at Section 3 called "relief." Section 3 states, "After a determination of the merits of a suit brought under this Act, the District Court shall issue such declaratory and injunctive relief as may be necessary..." The key words are "after a determination..." Congress did not say the federal court must accept the merits of the lawsuit."

Read the law for yourself...

2. Georgie's running back to D.C. was a sideshow
It was for political reasons only. Plus he probably wanted people to feel sorry for him that he had to interrupt his (umpteenth, thousandth) vacation to sign the law.

You're right tho. The only thing the law did was to allow the parents to go to the Federal courts. But why not? They already had 17 (?) other judges say "NO"!
