30. Kidnapping is not only a state thing
but I think it is a Federal offense. The sad thing on the Federal offense, Shrub is president and isn't the FBI controlled by the shrub?

2. I'm guessing that the Florida Supreme Court...
would find him in contempt of court, or something similar. It would probably lead to a state constitutional crisis, and a standoff between the executive and the judiciary.

5. Greer would issue a citation and warrant
possibly more than one. Pinellas County Sheriffs would have leave to arrest those involved.

And I suppose he would just continue doing so until she finally dies. Thanks for the info.

His BROTHER is the POTUS. He will just be issed a blanket pardon for any alleged criminal behavior committed.

Jeb could walk over to the hospice with a machine gun and mow down everyone in his path and personally carry Terri out, and he would still get off scott free.

19. Even better! Two birds with one stone!
Jeb would still probably have to leave office anyway, and then George would be in hot shit too.

12. Not for murder he wouldn't
A pardon is given after someone has been indicted of a crime, so Jeb would still have to go through the process, before George could grant him a pardon.

And there's no guarantee that George would do it. If Jeb violates the law it'll reflect on the Republican party, and I'm willing to bet that the members of Congress will be running for cover.

18. No, he could issue a pardon even before he is charged.
Like Ford did with Nixon. Of course, it would have to be after he actually committed the crime, but still could be before charges are brought.

the Nixon administration.

But.... I am so tired of saying this administration can get away with whatever, this administration is untouchable, this administration,,,,,, STOP! Something has to give here.

33. I know, I want to believe it too. But everything has
Edited on Thu Mar-24-05 09:24 PM by NYC Liberal
proven me wrong. EVERYTHING that SHOULD have been (and in actuality, WAS) enough to put the whole lot of them in prison for a long, long time just didn't stick.

Forgive me, but after all the scandals and lies and deceptions and and TREASON, I'm very skeptical now that anything can get them. For them to go down, one of them would have to believe that ultimately the good of the country is more important than themselves and come out...but I think (providing there IS somebody there like that, which is doubtful) anybody even think of doing that will be stopped.

Remember Sharon Bush? She got a call saying if she didn't publically take back everything she'd said to Kitty Kelly, she'd find herself in a "dark alley."

The President can only pardon federal offenders. Jeb would be an offender against the state of Florida.

28. Sure, until Congress passes a law
overiding the state's exclusivity because they don't like how the activist judges are persecuting poor Jeb.

Gee, where have we seen that recently? (I've never seen a Congress act that fast!)

The will declare America a Biblical state, admit Iraq to the Union and outlaw all opposition to the GOP.

And issue a similar pardon to Tom DeLay.

I can see Terri being placed under arrest for failure to appear before a Congressional panel. These people are not Christians and should not even be considered such.

8. Kidnapping is a felony crime, if the kidnap victims dies, that is
....an automatic death penalty. Also, kidnapped brings in the FBI. Jeb, a convicted felon, looses all chance of ever running for the presidency, but here is the sweet irony, he looses the right to hold any government office and he can no longer vote!!!!

Nice fantasy, but the president's brother will never fall on his sword for anyone. That requires a sense of honor.

15. Here's fun
Just imagine:

Jeb sends in the state troopers. Michael Schiavo sues Jeb in federal court, as guardian, for her release on the grounds that Jeb violated due process by taking custody of her without a significant state interest. The court rules for Michael. Jeb refuses to comply with the court order.

That, my friends, would lead to an interesting replay of Little Rock in 1957 (not exactly, but you get the picture)

What does Georgie do?

20. Basically, Georgie would do what he's been doing for the past four years.
He'd listen to Karl who would say, "Fuck 'em." And Georgie would stay in Crawford and not say a word.

The bottom line is, "Fuck 'em" would work. What could we do about it?

or set up a grand jury to indict him for kidnapping, criminal comtempt.

Fact is, governors get indicted, like Rowland.

37. (continuing w/ speculation) on the night of the pardon, terra alert level
rises up to RED, on vague reports of chatter and accumulated "evidence" of plans to blow up landmarks in 25 major cities. Jeb is trotted out just in time to 'oversee' protective measures in Florida.

this is brinksmanship. Chimperor stands or falls on the perception of his "resolve". Your guess is as good as mine, but the smart money (or dumb money, yukyuk) is on the Chimperor making a move and fucking it up - like always. Ya gotta watch the trends IMHO.
