... to heap tons and tons of backhanded compliments upon him. Use dysfunctional language to sneak in digs while overtly buttering him with praise. Temporarily take on the role of a cartoon mother-in-law from hell.

Think like a nagging passive-aggressive. It's a horrible thing to do to your mind, so don't stay in this mode for too long.

...the best strategy would be to not fed into his crap, but let him take his actions. If he does nothing, his wing-nut base will view that as failure, if he defies the law and has the state take custody of Terri then it becomes his, just like how Iraq has become his brother George's war! They are both going down and will soon be in free-fall.
