LBN confusion: Judge Greer orders FL not to take custody -- did they try?
Edited on Wed Mar-23-05 06:04 PM by DeepModem Mom
Has anyone seen these reports?

ON EDIT:

Reported by sonicx, from the Palm Beach Post --

"Shortly after the state Senate defeated a bill aimed at keeping Terri Schiavo alive, a state judge issued an emergency order to keep the Department of Children & Families from taking any action that would reconnect the woman's feeding tube.

George Felos, the attorney for Michael Schiavo, asked Pinellas Circuit Judge George Greer to issue the order Wednesday while the judge considers a request from DCF and Gov. Bush to take custody of Terri Schiavo.

The request from DCF and the governor cited new allegations of neglect and challenges Schiavo's diagnosis as being in a persistent vegetative state, based on the opinion of a neurologist working for the state.

Gov. Bush and Department of Children & Families Secretary Lucy Hadi argued they have statutory authority to intervene on behalf of Schiavo, who has been without nourishment since Friday afternoon."

2. Insane (but inadvertently humorous) "Religious" Rant From FR
GAK! Get this from FR, Jebby Boy gets morphed into the 23rd Psalm!

The 23rd Psalm --- Translated to Terri's Present Reality !!!

The Lord is Terri's Shepherd --- That's Relationship !!!
She shall not want --- That's Supply !!!
He maketh her to lie down in green pastures --- That's Rest !!!
He leadeth her beside the still waters --- That's Refreshment !!!
He restoreth her soul --- That's Healing !!!
He leadeth her in the paths of righteousness --- That's Guidance !!!
For His name sake --- That's Purpose !!!
Yea, though Terri walks through the valley of the shadow of death --- That's Testing !!!
She will fear no evil --- That's Protection !!!
For Thou art with her --- That's Faithfulness !!!
Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort her --- That's Discipline !!!
Thou preparest a table before Terri in the presence of her enemies--- That's Hope !!!
Thou annointest her head with oil --- That's Consecration !!!
Her cup runneth over --- That's Abundance !!!
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow Terri all the days of her life --- That's Blessing !!!
And she will dwell in the house of the Lord --- That's Security!!!
Forever --- That's Eternity !!!
Congressional Subpoena & President Signs Schiavo Bill --- That's Expectation !!!
Gov. Jeb Bush takes Terri into protective custody --- That's Deliverance !!!
Face it ---- The Lord is crazy about Terri !!!
Otherwise --- Why else would He continuously deliver her from
the evil hands of her attempted murderers ???

4. I can only offer an educated speculation.
Apparently, Jebbie not only indicated that he was going to attempt taking the poor woman into State's custody,...but also, was threatening to actually follow through.

I believe that Michael's attorney may have immediately filed a motion to re-affirm the court's previous ORDER and the court issued an updated order prohibiting law enforcement from removing Terri from the premises.

This whole thing is starting to look like a battle between the judicial and executive branches. The judges are standing firm in the rule of law while the execs keep attempting to act outside the rules of law.

10. Here's what's new on FL agencies
the Florida Department of Children and Family Services filed a request in Florida state court to unseal financial records connected to the case. Those records ``would be relevant to the department's statutory duty to investigate allegations of abuse, neglect and/or exploitation,'' the motion said.

13. Good find!

I've been searching google news and couldnt' find anything Here's this too:

http://news.tbo.com/news/MGBXR0RXN6E.html

"The Department of Children & Families said Wednesday morning it is considering invoking its right under Florida statute to provide protective services to certain ``vulnerable adults'' and applying it to the Terri Schiavo case.

In a brief conversation with reporters, Secretary Lucy Hadi said the department is considering all options, but specifically pointed to a provision that she said would allow the department to take a vulnerable person into its custody without prior judicial approval.

The provision states: `` a person is likely to incur a risk of death or serious physical injury if such person is not immediately removed from the premises, then the representative of the department shall transport or arrange for the transportation of the vulnerable adult to an appropriate medical or protective services facility in order to provide emergency protective services.''

The department would first have to file a petition with the court, but could act before the court is able to schedule a hearing. "

It sounds to me that the Schiavo attorneys made an end run around DCF to prevent them from taking physical custody of Terri Schiavo, before the judge could schedule the hearing.

14. Sounds like harassment
They lost and are now determined to punish Michael Schiavo. I am really sick of these freaks and their sense of entitlement.
