Where's Jeb ??? 48% Jump in Homeless Children in Florida County (Tampa)
Homeless A Growing Concern (one FL county sees 48% jump for children)

TAMPA - Hillsborough County's homeless population now tops 11,000, but most alarming to many advocates is the increase in the number of children among them.

A grass-roots census released Tuesday by the Homeless Coalition of Hillsborough County shows the number of homeless children registered in Hillsborough schools jumped 48 percent in the past two years.

``This one always gets to me,'' said Rayme Knuckles, executive director of the coalition.

Homeless children have more health problems, including asthma and ear infections, and are four times more likely to have developmental delays, he said.

More importantly, Knuckles added, these children are four times more likely to become homeless as adults.

Where the hell is Jeb on this important and growing issue?

What about his "no child left behind pledge"?

What about the importance of "life"?

2. Me either.
And it makes me sad, because the Gulf Coast around Naples is one of the prettiest areas of coastline in the world. We used to go there for vacations, but have not been there since 1993 and we won't go back with Jeb and the Repukes in power.

12. Yep, me too.
Oh well, take heart - Repukes can't hold power forever, can they? Or can they?? I'm hopeful but not very optimistic - when Diebold voting machines are made illegal we might have a chance.

9. Yes, liked Florida before Jeb
Loved the art deco in Miami...good sushi bars there, too, surprisingly. Enjoyed watching the dolphins ply the waters around St. Augustine, as well as scoping out the sea turtle nests on the beach. Kennedy Space Center was awesome--spent two days there and got to see one of the space shuttles take off and one of the astronauts on Apollo 13 give a talk.

When I think "vacation" these days, Florida doesn't come to mind. Like TX, I don't see myself there again, EVER.

4. I think we need a "flood light" shining on this issue and compare it
to his "grandstanding" in the Schaivo case.
