1. Here is the Canadian take on what will take place at this
'Three Amigos' farce:

Martin meets Bush, Fox in Texas on continental trade and security issues

WACO, Texas (CP) - Prime Minister Paul Martin arrived Wednesday morning at Baylor University for his summit meeting with U.S. President George W. Bush and Mexican President Vicente Fox.

The two-hour meeting is taking place in the university's library, which is draped with the flags of the three countries.

Officials were expecting some gains on North American co-operation but no big deals from the summit. There's little hope Bush will oblige Martin on a key demand - a new dispute resolution mechanism to avoid future trade battles like the Canadian softwood dispute.

But there's little appetite for getting too cosy. The Mexican president's vision of big changes to the North American Free Trade Agreement isn't flying in Canada and the United States.

Pettigrew said the summit is not about renegotiating NAFTA.
