1. Repuke's favorite movie:
"A Bridge Too Far"

Slowly, people will start to get them. It's happening already. They have no moderation in them.

10. Because...
Far too many people go through life blissfully unaware of just about anything that goes on around them, save their most immediate needs and whatever emotion they are feeling at that moment.

2. I doubt it. Repubs never seem to fall on their swords.
If we want them pierced, we will have to stab them ourselves.

12. Which allowed the GOP to 'win" in 2000, thanks to "Scandal Fatigue."

the Clinton Impeachment WORKED for the GOP in the long term.

5. They are grandstanding on the Body of this woman, and should be very
clear even to those that have thick Freeper Skulls, this is a disgusting display. 2006 is looking better and better

6. In general I agree
with this sentiment, but I have no faith in the proposition that they will actually land on their swords when they fall. Somehow they always seem to miss the sword altogether or at least don't hit a vital spot.

9. Depends on the audience
They are playing to their neo-con KKKRistian base which eats this kind of demagogery up. To reasonable Americans who understand that matters such as those presented in the Schiavo case have historically been left to the States. Further these matters are usually very deferential to the family members involved. When Terri Schiavo married Michael, her parents lost the type of legal input they enjoyed when she was single. Her husband, as of their marriage, became Terri's guardian.

The courts of Florida have considered the issues at length and have concluded that under Florida law, Michael has the right to determine the best treatment of his wife. He has decided that terminating life-sustaining food and water is the right thing to do.

His wishes should be respected. We do this all the time in this country. I don't know why this particular case is so controversial other than the fact that a Bush, Jeb, decided to get involved. I think if he hadn't gotten involved this matter would have been resolved quietly and with dignity over two years ago.

It is a travesty but we have more of this to face in the years to come as long as the ultra-conservative bigots in the Republican party maintain control. I think its time to pack the bags and move to New Zealand.

13. Yes, but only if we can take advantage
The memo that came out, with the disgusting display of pure demagoguery that is accompanying this political grandstanding, can be countered only if our side is willing to call this what it is: Pandering politics of the basest sort.

I'm stuck at work, but does anyone see anything on CNN or any of the other news outlets that is taking the Republicans to task for this? Because if it's not on the air, no one's going to be talking about it three days from now.
