Thinking of retiring within the next 20 years, you best think again..

The current addition of Harper’s magazine will tell you why. When you read the article you will understand just how much trouble you are in and why you, more than likely, will not retire as comfortably as you might have planned.

If you have a company retirement plan, a 401 K or any type of retirement plan that is tied to the stock market or promises from the company from which you plan to retire, you have been had. We all have been had, because it is the taxpayers and working class that is going to be stuck with the bill.

That is the driving force behind Bush’s rush to get us all in his “ownership society.” The thing he is hiding is that what we are going to own is Trillions of dollars in corporate loses as the “free market” risk is socialized, while the ruling class takes all the profits.

This article is a must read for anyone who wants to know the argument and the facts on the Ponzi scheme that is being perpetrated on America.

4. Well it is certainly true that corporations are turning away from...
...their obligations on retirement plans and handing them over to government to bail them out at an accelerating rate. Without regulation and enforcement, all contracts are vulnerable and that appears to be the trend.

3. I am thinking of retiring in about 40 years....
I will be 95 at the time, but what the hell?

It's been several years since I have been able to open and read my 401K and IRA earnings reports. Too damn depressing.

5. Here's some more background.
http://www.hsdent.com/content/deflation.cfm"">"...the next Deflationary Shakeout will begin between 2008 and 2010."

About 2010, the US will suffer a repeat of the Great Depression. It's a matter of demographics, the aging baby boom generation, and the less numerous Gen-X that followed it. Here's even more background:

http://www.safehaven.com/article-2709.htm">I do not expect a recession coinciding with the next Kitchin cycle low in 2006, but rather with the next Kitchin cycle low in 2010.

9. when you use the html code that works on this site,
you have to take the http:// out from the front of the link. only the www. if there is one, or just the beginning of the url if there isn't, is supposed to be there.

ok, that just sounded weird. but i hope you got my jist. take the http:// out from in front of the link and you'll be fine.
