Tegan Bunsu & Thomas Stanley, "two of the best" 9th grade students at Twin Spruce Junior High, according to the principal, walked out of classes on Monday, March 17, 2003. They stood in the cold rain for half an hour holding signs saying "Oil vs. Lives. You Decide" and "War is Terrorism Too." For their disobedience, they will have to spend two hours in detention, the first of their academic careers.

A Women in Black Standing for Peace vigil, organized by Polly Wakeman and Jen Fuller, is held on the SW corner of the town square every Monday at noon for half an hour. You can also "Ski For Peace" thanks to Jackson Hole Peace and support Doctors Without Borders at the same time.
Lander, WY Weekly vigils were held in Lander during the run-up to the war in 2003. Although the group is no longer active, Lander still has a core of people working for peace and justice.
