Being a bitch pays off! I've got proof!
Yesterday evening I was reading Josh Marshall's TPM and I got ticked off about his comment about Dean setting up Clark by going public with their discussions. Anyway, I sent off a bitchy e-mail, basically saying he was as bad as Pelosi and her thugs--the knives are out and they can't stand someone outside the beltway crashing into their cozy little world, it's crap like that that makes the Dems the minority party, etc.

Well...got a nasty e-mail back about how us Dean supporters can't take criticism, blah, blah, blah. I sent another nasty e-mail, expounding on Pelosi's blunder in stabbing Dean in the back over comments about Israel. Anyway, Josh later posted something basically saying that he hadn't read the comments by Dean, and the ones by pelosi, but he thought it was a bad idea that the Dems are going after each other. My point exactly!

Maybe other people wrote him, and maybe others contacted Pelosi, because I'm sure you've all seen the article about Dean and Pelosi kissing and making up.

I'm glad I'm a bitch, and I will keep on bitching until some Dems see that the enemy is NOT within their own party!

3. "Shoulder to shoulder" comment?
Yeah, I think she did say that after the invasion of Iraq began. At least she was always against it, not like some people--I mean Feinstein (although I could bash Kerry about this right now)--she was very vocal in her oppostion and then voted for the damn resolution anyway!

12. Makes me sad when "homegirl" Pelosi is trashed...
Edited on Fri Sep-12-03 08:42 PM by Oracle
but I accept with good reason. I really thought this SF homegirl would be different and was a progressive liberal...I was wrong, just another mainstream Dem.

Shocking and sad!

5. In fact it is such a Good well written letter that I am going to post
it ..right here..right now!

TO: Honorable Nancy Pelosi

"As a lifelong Democrat I am deeply disturbed by your high profiled criticism of Governor Dean's policies on the Middle East. Any fair-minded educated person would not have opted to lambaste Governor Dean through the media as you have done. One of the fundamental keystones of leadership is to follow a very simple rule that reads,
"Praise in public. Criticize in private." Anyone who has had any leadership training whatsoever knows this. Most educated people over the age of 21 know this. Moreover, anyone who knows you, knows that you know this as well."

"To call your public assertions pertaining to Governor Dean's positions a thinly veiled political stunt to disrupt Governor Dean's meteoric rise to prominence, would be giving you far too much credit. This can only qualify as a very low and harmful bare-boned orchestration that failed to guise anything, including your abuse of your position as a party leader."

"Your overt castigation of Governor Dean's call for a policy of evenhandedness in the Middle East has only served to underscore how complicit the political establishment has been in failing to earnestly address the situation. Moreover, your attempt to boost the candidate that you endorsed by means of tearing down a fellow Democrat is likely to propagate the type of disunity that allowed George W. Bush to steal the election away from Al Gore in 2000. Lastly, your divisive chide has brought forth the recollection of your personal failure to act as an agent of peace when you had the opportunity to do so. Your decision to grant George W. Bush an unconditional license to lead us into an ill-conceived, wrongheaded war has greatly diminished your authority to speak ill of anyone when it comes to issues of war and peace. You have done us all a terrible disservice."

Sincerely,
Xoxoxoxoxo

14. Zidzi,

your meetup coordinator's letter was good, except for the last paragraph. He/she should e-mail Pelosi and apologize to her for accusing her of voting for the Iraq war resolution. She did not.
