Vote to strike Medicaid cuts delayed till tomorrow. Call your Senator!
Your calls are working! It now appears that the final vote on the Smith-Bingaman amendment to strike Medicaid cuts in the budget has been delayed until tomorrow (Thursday).

The Good News: This gives us one more day to make sure that our support for the Smith-Bingaman amendment gets heard loud and clear.

The Bad News: This also gives the other side time to strike deals and get more votes.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

Call Your Senator: If you haven't yet, please make those phone calls to your Senators! Our toll-free number is still active and will remain so until the vote. And if it's busy--just keep trying!
Here's the number: 1-800-828-0498

Forward This Message: After you've called your Senators, click here to forward this message to everyone in your state who cares about this issue.
It is critical that we keep calling, sending e-mails, faxing and making lots of noise. You are being heard--let's keep it up!

Lena

2. Sorry. I copied an email I received from Families USA, but here is
a link to the same info on Daily Kos.

Smith/Bingaman introduced an amendment to Shrub's 2006 budget that would eliminate the drastic cuts to Medicaide.
