Democrats, stay United!
Edited on Wed Mar-16-05 02:55 PM by ck4829
Let the Republicans split. We should do what they did for Ralph Nader. They supported him to cause trouble for the Democrats. Do you all know how much potential there is for a split in the Republican Party if we were to provide support to the far Right third parties?

1. Particularly, I think, among Fundies
I know it sounds implausible. But they elected Bush to do a number of things, none of which he is all that interested in doing.

2. Democrats Are Not United Against Bushism That's The Problem
It would be nice if the Democratic Party and Democratic representatives in Congress were united against Bush.

They are not. That's the problem.

There are far too many Bush "enablers" in the Democratic Party officialdom. Nader was right on that point.

So please don't criticize progressives who attack those Democrats who vote for Bush's appointments and legislation. What are we suppose to do? Shut up and pretend it ain't so?

3. No. We should purge the enablers such as Lieberman
That is a good idea.

5. Agreed, but why not purge enablers AND support a fundie third party?
It worked for the RNC. Why not us?

8. They've Been Compromised And Marginalized
This regime is damn good on putting an issue that is sure to cause political problems for a "purple" Democrat (one in a tight district). People here fail to realize not all Democrats were elected in landslides and can assume they're safe. Most are scared to cross this regime since they know the GOOP has a ruthless media machine that will chew them up alive.

Look at how many Democrats have been pulled down in one form or fashion over the past decade...or even go back to when Gnewt Gingrinch and his ilk started making trouble in the House. These dudes have discipline, stay on message and delight in the hell they create. Democrats don't have such discipline.

If there's gonna be a scism in the GOOP tent, it won't do much damage until 2008 since this regime is also adept at playing one "base" of his against another. These sheeple are so kool-aided they will bitch but there's no way in hell they'll bail.

If there's an issue that could be exploited, but I haven't heard a good Democratic answer/alternative, it's Immigration. This one is festering, and as the economy heads south and more Mexicans head north Bunnypants will have to tap dance carefully between his farmer/rancher buddies and the right wingers from Texas through California.

4. I said this before the election, Roy Moore for President!
We need a big name fundie to help peel off R votes. Heck, I'll thump a Bible and have open air church revival meetings to support Roy. Heh heh.}( We need to start learning how to work R weaknesses otherwise we don't stand a chance.

9. There's already a far right third party......
Edited on Wed Mar-16-05 03:36 PM by Stop_the_War
It's ironically called the "Constitution Party" although I doubt they would have respect for the Constitution. believe me, these people look WORSE than the Republicans. And you thought nobody else in America could be worse than those fascists? well, think again.

11. Kerry/Nader Both Got Money From Anti-Bush Republicans
Right-wingers voted for and gave their money to George W. Bush.

Anti-Bush Republicans voted for and gave money to Nader and Kerry. Kerry got about 10 million and Nader about 100,000 dollars in campaign donations from anti-Bush Republicans.

The hard facts on this are on the internet.

But, let's not rehash all the old 2004 election campaign rhetoric and propaganda. This is 2005.

12. Real democrats are united.
Problem is that at least a quarter of our elected democrats are closet republicans who vote with the GOP all the time. As soon as people in these areas elect democrats, rather than GOP impostors like Hillary Clinton and Joe Lieberman, we will be in much better shape.

Isn't it sad that the GOP has right wingers, far right wingers and fascists in office, but we have NO elected left-wingers, maybe a handful of liberals, a moderate majority, and at least 1/4 right-wingers?
