Republican boys date Democratic girls....
Edited on Sun Mar-13-05 10:10 AM by greatauntoftriplets
Yes, Virginia, Democratic women are better in bed
By DOUG THOMPSON
Mar 13, 2005, 07:18

“Republican boys date Democratic girls,” goes an old Washington saying. “They plan to marry Republican girls, but feel they're entitled to a little fun first.”

Another one says: “Democrats make love with the lights on and their window shades open…and shouldn’t. Republicans make love with the lights off and shades drawn…and needn’t.”

Google “Democrats make better lovers” and you get 296 citations. Try the same with “Republicans make better lovers” and you get just three.

The results are in. Those who pander to the party of the pachyderm are boring in bed. Not surprising considering the GOP’s repressive attitudes on just about any topic, including sex.

9. Sounds like sweet talk from a right winger to me
It's why Democrat gals may date one or two of them before they're able to spot them from a distance, but generally manage to slip out through the kitchen before the evening is over.

It's also why roofies were invented. It's the only way those clods ever get laid.

21. Sweet talk from a right winger???
Not to sound high fluentin, but my reading material tends to be on the less vulgar side. I guess, I was raised in a way to respect women no matter what their political persuasion.

But, if you enjoy reading about blow jobs and telling women to spread their legs and getting the sheets sucked up your ass, who am I to complain, it's your mind.

3. The last line or two of that article was hilarious.
And though he was writing from a male point of view, I'd have to say anecdotally, the other way around is true, too (about Democratic men). They are FAR more preferable to republican men. And that's all I'm going to say about that.

(I married a huge liberal.)

7. Withholding Sex from Repukes
I refuse to give it up to anyone either dumb enough or selfish enough to vote Bush. Besides, they aren't "givers" in the bedroom so I'm missing nothing!

8. what utter B*llshit
Here we have that old stereotype being pulled out YET AGAIN, where women either fit into the MADONNA syndrome or the WHORE syndrome. There are no grey areas, of course, and men NEVER get stereotyped into this shite. Basically the author is saying that Democratic women are "easy" and should be used often, whilst Republican women are moral sanctuaries. Give me a break.
The bottom line is that every Dem woman I know wouldnt spoil her sheets OR her integrity dating a GOP man. She would sooner sign up at a NUNNERY then waste her time with one of those Bozos.
Another stoooooooopid misogynist.

10. Uh, the point was that you can get these marble moral sanctuaries
into the sack, but you won't have much fun with them. He's also dead on about the contribution that old time religion made to that fact.

And c'mon. We all ended up with a pubbie or two when we were young and too unsophisticated to tell the difference. It's how we learned what the difference WAS.

He was also poking fun at the Madonna/whore stereotype, not embracing it.

11. Maybe I overreacted
Im 53 years old, and remember this stuff from my youth..as for going out back then with GOP men? Nope, never. I have standards..high standards, and that never included conservative men..they are far too insecure and boorish, the ones I met, and not very attractive..the eyes show the soul, and they always had "dead" eyes..
Conservative men dont like strong, independent women who think for themselves, at least in my experience.

16. now you are stereotyping
I'm as left as can get, i'm also insecure and boorish, though i don't think i have dead eyes. I'm attracted to strong independent women, but they also scare me. Because i'm rather uptight i'm often mistaken for a puritan of sorts, but telling consenting adults what to do and what not to do is the very last thing i want. Also i prefer sex with the lights on and the shades open, once i've found some self confidence. Go figure.

18. My husband started out a conservative Republican.
We met at college--an evangelical Christian college. He and I used to have the biggest debates over politics. He was the one who asked me out (the "strong, independent woman"), we fell in love, and now we've been married for over seven years. He's done a total 180 on his politics and pretty much everything else. He's a rabid Dem now (a source of pain for his parents), a proud member of the party and the ACLU, and he tells everyone in the internal medicine office he works in that we need a national health care plan.

Let's just say that he doesn't fit any of that description and never has. I also know a lot of conservative men from college who don't. Things aren't that cut and dried.

14. Finally, there's a way to get to them, as told in an ancient Greek play.
The Lysistrata strategy.
http://www.theatredatabase.com/ancient/aristophanes_005.html

The women of Athens, led by Lysistrata and supported by female delegates from the other states of Hellas, determine to take matters into their own hands and force the men to stop the War. They meet in solemn conclave, and Lysistrata expounds her scheme, the rigorous application to husbands and lovers of a self-denying ordinance--"we must refrain from the male altogether." Every wife and mistress is to refuse all sexual favours whatsoever, till the men have come to terms of peace.

15. obligatory Orwel quote
"With Julia, everything came back to her own sexuality. As soon as this was touched upon in any way she was capable of great acuteness. Unlike Wintson, she had grasped the inner meaning of the Party's sexual puritanism. It was not merely that the sex instinct created a world of its own which was outside the Party's control and which therefore had to be destroyed if possible. What was more important was that sexual privation induced hysteria, which was undesirable because it could be transformed into war fever and leader worship.
The way she put it was: "When you make love you're using up energy; and aftewards you feel happy and don't give a shit for anything. They can't bear you to feel like that. They want you to be bursting with energy all the time. All this marching up and down and cheering and waving flags is simply sex gone sour. If you're happy inside yourself, why should you get excited about Big Brother and the Three-Year Plans and the Two Minute Hates and all the rest of their bloody rot?"
-- Orwell, "1984"

23. Republican Girls? Does that mean demure? Because I don't think
that the generation of working poor who lost sons to war and kids to hunger... the woman who could hunt for protein with a rope and a few sticks and knit a whole blanket out of horse hair if need be... I don't know if they were shrinking violets... and if they had the time to bat eyelashes and stuff. I think most of those temperment things came with "wealth".

Now that the middle class is being erased, perpetual wars are back in favour, and there will be no safety net... women of steel will be the norm. Magnolias they may not be....Remember it was turn of the 20th Century 'girls' who turned off the taps to ALCOHOL for a good 20 years.

Someone go inform the NASCAR dads. Times are a changing... and so will temperments. And I think a beer easily qualifies as a luxury.
