4. I don't think this poll serves any purpose...

...three people were tragically killed, another disfigured and I heard that possibly a fifth person was either severely wounded or also killed. The fugitive is now in custody and hopefully there will be a thorough investigation to determine how to prevent such tragedies from ever happening again.

5. I Was Watching CNN

yesterday and they had someone call in and ask why he (Brian Nichols) wasn't in shackles, cuffs, etc. They had an Atlanta judge on the air. He stated that the defense doesn't usually agree to their clients being in shackles or cuffs due to the "image" that it would give to a jury. That they don't want their clients to appear violent or that they would bolt. Hence the lack of such restraining devices used in court. If the accused does appear violent to himself or other people from the first day, they may consider the above. I am heartbroken over these senseless and violent killings. The woman deputy rode the elevator with this man, alone. He is 6 foot 1? She was 5 foot 4? If they had found a knife in his shoe and the judge had voiced concern over him being prone to violence, why the hell didn't someone listen? I don't get that. I really don't.

I am sure the dept. of homeland security will grow a new arm and the taxpayers will pay big time for privatization of security. If No guns were in the court building this wouldn't have happened, but our society will go for more weapons and not less. I'm sure dubby and the gang were happy to see more mayhem.

It certainly adds to the climate of fear in the country, doesn't it? But I think we can count on Willie Horton treatment here .... one dick on MSNBC last night said that "the liberals on the left will be making excuses for him." Right. Did they find communist pamphlets in Bigger's apartment? (I hope there are some Native Son fans here. I'm pretty old, but I hope others remember this.)
