I've come to love this newspaper!

I thank the editorial board of The Palm Beach Post for reporting on the Jeff Gannon/James Guckert story ("Breaking security rules to manage the news," Feb. 26 editorial). Longtime White House press corps individuals such as Helen Thomas were denied even the right to ask a question. Other reporters, asking questions consistent with the role of the press, were banned from future questioning.
On the other hand, shills for the GOP, using false names and engaged in questionable activities, who have no journalistic experience or education, bypass security rules and obtain a daily press pass that is difficult to procure, especially under a fake name. Mr. Guckert obtained that daily press pass for more than two years, even before his association with the supposed Talon News. Talon News is directly connected to GOP USA and Republican operatives.
The Post's editorial failed to mention that Mr. Guckert/Gannon not only offered nude photographs of himself on the Internet, but those photographs were offered in advertising himself for $200 per hour or $1,200 per weekend. In other words, he was a gay prostitute, shilling for the Bush administration and bashing Democrats for supporting gay rights.
The editorial also failed to mention that Mr. Guckert/Gannon was blogging about the United States' entry into the Iraq War about four hours before anyone else even knew. And it failed to mention that Mr. Guckert/Gannon had possession of a secret memorandum that places him in the heart of the Valerie Plame scandal. What this means is that he was well-connected into the higher reaches of the White House. The public has learned of paid reporters shilling for the administration and governmental entities offering fake news stories; now, we have fake reporters. How many ways can you spell propaganda?
