Will there be a backlash when his game is discovered ?
By his devout followers? Once they come to realize that he has lied about everything since the very first day in the White House, will they turn on him? Once they realize that there is going to be pain for the big taxcuts that he sold to them as "their money"? Once they realize that the SS reform is nothing but a scam, which he thought he could wiggle his way through - just like he did with the lies about going to war with Iraq- will they turn on him or will they be good Christians and forgive him for all the death and destruction he has brought to our country? Will he ever be discovered?

2. He will be cloaked in soft kisses
and annointed in oils, if the past four years and change have been any indication.

3. Ya know, I don't care if the minority of his followers
turn on him, but I *DO* want the Repubs to turn on him. What's the chance of that happening?

7. I think what goes around comes around and his day is coming
Some of the blind will have an eyeopener with this man. Others who drink the koolaide will NEVER admit they have been wrong about anything and that Bush has NEVER been wrong about anything. Payback is hell and I think he'll get what's coming to him. The good Lord will take care of him, we've just got to have faith.

just like reagan, his supporters know not to look closely.

as soon as he's out of office, look for the naming to begin. highways, airports, treatment centers.

5. I think the last to turn will be the most energized converts.
I don't know about you, but I suffer from outrage fatigue. I mean, after the 4,894 outrage from this administration, it's hard to get worked up when you see #4,895 occur.

But those who have supported this administration faithfully, assuming their interests were being looked after by fellow "Republicans" have to be seeing the real agenda of these criminals becoming exposed. Once the light dawns on Bald Rock, the revelation should trigger a complete reordering of their priorities and allow them to re-evaluate the recent history of the New Republican Party for what it truely is, a swindle perpetrated on the 98% who aren't super wealthy Republicans. The 'Contract For America' can be seen as it really is, the 'Contract on America'.

And these converts, should be the angriest and the most anti-Republicans....because they actually were the duped ones. No one, Left or Right, likes to be played a fool.

6. I don't know -- people will have to be given a psychological "out"
Even in places as open-minded as this wonderful site, you see people defending their positions with more and more passionate vigor the more they are shown to be incorrect. To admit you were duped by old Bushco will be embarassing -- it will take a lot for people to peel off their stupid bumperstickers. They will defend him because they're defending themselves.

I'm holding out hope that A)a scandal will make MSM and people will be able to admit they were duped or B)things will pile on to such an extent that there will be a sudden change in groupthink.

I'm holding out hope, but not my breath.

11. yeah -- they're pretty heavily invested ...
Very difficult to turn around and say "I was duped". (Mark Twain documented this phenomenon in the Huck Finn book -- where the townsfolk know they've been swindled but can't bear to admit it, so they actually allow the con artists to fleece everyone else, just to avoid being looked down on by somebody who avoided the scam.)

8. His shit tastes like brownies to these people.
He would have to have sex with some goats and children on the truman balcony while delivering nukes to osama bin Laden before the freeps will turn on him.
