Iraqi Civilian Death Toll of 100,000 is Underestimated
Edited on Fri Mar-11-05 02:33 PM by ck4829
A group of top public-health physicians has branded the official toll of civilian dead from the Iraqi war as a serious underestimate and demanded an independent probe to establish the full casualty figures.

Their statement is published this Saturday in the weekly British Medical Journal (BMJ) as the second anniversary of the war looms on March 20.

It marks a fresh attempt by medical campaigners to establish the number of Iraqi civilian casualties after a rough estimate of 100,000 dead, made by epidemiologists last October, was brushed aside by the British government.

Considering the amount of bombing the Americans have done.

3. That Yahoo article, not surprisingly, is being freep'd. Not sure...
....when you start applying the term "mass murder" -- 100, 1000, 10000, 100000, .... ?

No matter, the crime began when we killed the first Iraqi at the start of an illegal war.

The crimes expand daily.

And, the whole world is watching (and, in many cases, are much better informed than the citizens of the country committing the crimes).

One thing you can be sure Bu$h and all his neoCONster buddies know for certain -- they day they are out of office is the day they take their first step toward jail.

Peace.

4. Can't have a good "Shock & AWE"...
...without alot of DEAD & MAIMED Iraqi Men, Women, and Children!

What if the USA gave a Shock & Awe and nobody got killed or blown apart? That's no way to run a totally unnecessary WAR!

Hell, bush* and the republicans (and DINOs) were Defending America!!!, so they had to kill all those innocent Iraqis who had never (and could never) threatened the USA.

5. No shit!!! But the average American is being "protected" from that,...
,...reality!!! BY WHOM? BY WHAT?

WHO IS TO BLAME FOR INTENTIONALLY CONCEALING THE REALITIES OF THIS WAR?

Our Media IS TO BLAME. OUR GOVERNMENT IS TO BLAME!!!

Both are intentionally choosing to hide reality from our eyes!!!

GUILTY AS CHARGED!!!!

6. The number of Iraqi civilians killed
is one of the most important statistics, the public , needs to be aware of. It puts a human face on war. It's no longer an abstract concept. Americans don't really want to know.. I imagine, a good many Americans justified the war to themselves, thinking at least the sanctions will be lifted and those poor people might have a better standard of living. At least they will have humanitarian aide. no, no, no, we shocked and awed them to death and went right for the oil pipelines.

7. Kick-Malnutrition, Water Borne Illnesses etc.-Thousands Perish
Thanks for this important post and recognition. The death toll in Viet Nam is in the millions from that atrocity. The death toll in the chaos brought to Iraq is unknowable and way beyond what Iraq Body Count suggests. Some will dispute this higher number you suggest but when we add the higher rate of mortality due to water borne illnesses, stress, malnutrition etc. to the outright combat casualties I think we will find out how disgraceful this horror is. We must act.

8. What happened to OUR COUNTRY?
What happened to REAL NETWORK Journalism?

ETHICS gone astray buying STOCK in their BIG CORPORATE EXEC pockets.
The BUYING of the VOTING (NOT VOTER) FRAUD participants. Clearly, not just in Florida or Ohio, oh no. Bettcha all around this country.

VISA, MASTERCARD, BIG STEEL industries, GE, motor parts, on and on... sold out our jobs overseas, and we're victims of the worse abuse known to mankind.

Sadly, you get real news from Europe and Canada now. SHAME on our MEDIA!
