So when do we open up the debtors prisons?
They could supply even lower slave wages for Wal-Mart. Of course that's just the wages. Taxpayers would still have to subsidize the facility and personell.

And I think we should name them after the Democrats who voted for the bankruptcy bill. (How come Hillary ducked this one?) But, we'd have to get the Republicans in there also, so it could be a joint monument.

I propose the Nelson-Martinez Florida Re-education Camp. And after the vote, the Davis-Bilirakis Camp. Put Jeb Bush in charge of them, and they'll be faith-based.

1. "How come Hillary ducked this one?"
Her old man was under the knife up in NY.

We'll be needing lots of new construction for those debtors' prisons.
That should perk up those employment numbers some.
Of course the analysts will give the credit to a chimpanzee's "economic stewardship".

2. Hillary did NOT duck. I know most people on here love to bash her
but her husband was having a very highly publicized heart surgery. Can you imagine what you'd say if she skipped that to be in DC?

4. it's debtors prison or the military...
what the hell other option is there if you're broke and They Still Want Their Money?

I do not understand this at all but I'm sure the sleaze bastards know what they're doing and how to suck every last penny out of us.

5. Wish I could find the link
read an interesting article from Business Week. It plotted the number of bankruptcies by geographic region. The SOUTH had the highest number (hello, Bush supporters) and, this really shocked me, the Northeast (BLUE states) had the lowest number. Basically, in a nutshell they found that the reason was that wages were so much lower in the South than the Northeast so that fewer people in South were able to manage by themselves to get out of debt.

So, you could say, Bush is biting the hand that feeds him. If I find the link, I will post it.

12. Will they teach folks how to manage their money to get earned
time to get out of prison early?

Go to this link to get the links to contact members of congress to demand that they kill this bill in conference! Tuesday is call-in day, overload their switchboard, call them all.
