What's a VHIED?

Sgt. Andrew L. Bossert, 24, of Fountain City, Wis., and Pfc. Michael W. Franklin, 22, of Coudersport, Pa. died March 7, in Ramadi, Iraq, when a VHIED detonated near their screening area. They were assigned to the Army’s 44th Engineer Battalion

2. If I had to guess...
IED is Improvised Explosive Device

VH could be Very Heavy, or possibly it was inside a Vehicle though in that cas I have no guesses as to the H.
