3. Rossi's Sopranos have spent the last two months
Lying, litigating, sending out false surveys in order to get signatures of people who signed absentee ballots (and paying people $10 to fill out these phony surveys), and scouring the voting rolls for possible felons. They want the governorship and they aren't giving up.

5. As I understand it...
...they are trying to get the election nullified, and a new vote held. The judge hearing the case (from conservative eastern Washington) has issued a series of procedural rulings that go the G.O.P.s way to such an extent that the case, if it goes Rossi's way, is fairly begging to be thrown out on appeal. However, the same judge has ruled that there is no legal grounds for holding a new vote.

It's hard to see where this is going. It appears to me that the only way the judge can throw out the election results, and declare Rossi the winner, is if the G.O.P. demonstrates that Gergoire won enough of the votes from invalid voters to make up her entire margin of victory -- but, at the same time, the judge seemed to say that this wasn't required. There remains the possibility that, even if the judge rules the election invalid, the only result might be that the (Democratic) Lieutenant Governor, Brad Owen, takes over for the remainder of Gregoire's term.

6. Seems to me if they throw this out based on felon false votes
it sets a dangerous precedent. Let's go back to 2000 and talk about the presidential "election" and all of the felons who were wrongly scrubbed, shall we? Then let's go and find out how many felons weren't allowed to vote who should have done in the general election this year.

8. The race is not over yet...In King county where I live
Edited on Wed Mar-09-05 11:48 PM by Andy_Stephenson
there are over 2000 votes that have no voters attached to them. King County is run by Democrats that to say the least are not honest. It is a bitter pill I know...but I have dealt with these people for over 2 years on election issues and they are not playing by the rules.

You may remember in Sept...when we discovered a 3.5 hour gap in the audit log? It was no accident. Dean Logan, Bill Hunnekins, Nicole Wey and Julie Moore have dirty hands. They are in real danger of losing their jobs and because of their misdeeds...the entire state of Washington could face a revote in November.

It is unfortunate that I have to side with the republicans on this...but King County Elections office has had problems for years. We had a terrific Supervisor of elections here 2 years ago...She was scapegoated to cover Diebolds ass. Now the crooks are fully in charge.

Sad but true.

9. The usual Repuke crap.
After two machine counts, which anyone with a brain would have to admit presents a "margin of error," each and every ballot was phsically inspected by three people - Gregoire won. Of course, when the Dems wanted a recount (perfectly appropriate and legal considering the closeness of the race), Rossi was all over the media with his, "We trust the voters and they trust their lawyers" crap. Guess who is trusting the lawyers now? Doesn't this sound like Shrub in 2000? All the confusion was in King Co. but Rossi and his crew got the legal process moved to a "red" county. They are insufferable. They submit a list of "felons" to the media that is "absolutely accurate" BUT may contain some errors. Typical. And they are doing their best to try to make it look like all the felon votes were for Gregoire. To bad that one of the first of the felons interviewed had voted for Rossi. It's a zoo and all we can hope for is that Gregoire makes such and impression early on that should a revote be called - doubtful - she will win.
