Dear Canada
Could you please move your continent a little further south? Okay, make that a lot further south. I think that you would find even more Americans who would be more than happy to become Canadians if you just had a little bit warmer climate. O8)

2. It gets pretty hot in the summer
and during the winter, do what the Quebecois do - fly to Florida. I like having 4 seasons - it's kinda nice... then again, I'm not a summer person. Anyhoo come check it out in the summer.

3. It's the 49th parallel that needs to be shifted to say below the...
...32nd parallel. The only problem is that we would have to learn to spell all over again, but that's alright, it would be worth it. We would also have a parliamentary system of government and we'd have one person, one vote or a true democracy. The Mexicans could also move their borders up to the 30th parallel. The neo-conservatives could have the area in between where we could erect 75 foot high walls with overpasses.

11. Not for the neo-cons, to walk over the neo-cons, they are....
...confined to the 2 dgree area between the walls.

...the God of Moses allowed the parting of the Red Sea to close with them in the middle.

16. It's really not that bad!
I live in the coldest city of them all - the coldest city in the world (with a population over 200,000), in fact - and if I can take it I'm sure you can. (I'm not particularly tolerant of cold.)

Southern Ontario is actually further south than the northern end of California. That's pretty meaningless given where it is on the continent, but it's psychologically helpful if you live there.

19. I don't think I could ever do cold. I put on a sweater at 72 degrees.
I've only ever lived in two places - South Florida and Southern California, and I've been here for 25 years and I'm still cold almost all the time.

Believe me, in my heart & soul I'm a Canadian Socialist, but regretfully my damn body prefers the balmier climes.

But if it's Canada or the camps, will you teach me to sing "O, Canada" so I'll be ready?

22. You'll have to learn the metric, too.
But it's easy. You'll be talking in meters and singing O Canada in French within two weeks.

13. Its the winter that scares me.
Snow... Ice... Extreme cold...

That's what's keeping me from moving.

18. It depends on where you are!
Of course. Winnipeg in winter is wicked cold. But it's summers are gorgeous! Plus there are tons of lakes within reasonable driving distance. Calgary in the winter has maybe 1 week every month that's miserable, but then the chinooks come in and the temp can go from -30 to +15 in about 5 hours. Summers there... not so hot. So don't think that the old cliche of the "great white north" is true. Cause it isn't. heee. Today, in Calgary, it went up to +18. This weekend it will hit -2 w/flurries. Never boring!

23. I love Winnipeg - was there last March for business.
Met a great bunch of people and enjoyed several local beers. I only regret not being able to go back up there in June when our study was finished.

20. I'm in Saginaw, Michigan
To get to Windsor, Ontario, you travel 100 miles south. And Sarnia is about 100 miles to the southeast.

We're also the home of the crappiest franchise in the Ontario Hockey League (for the third season in a row) and have THREE Tim Horton shops here.
